Is television/media prejudiced?

I notice that a number of leading academics have criticised the 'propoganda' on Chinese TV saying they are fed up with a positive spin on domestic issues and a negative spin on international news. Do you agree that tv where you are is also prejudiced?
Here in UK the news is overwhelmingly negative anyway - should it be more posiytive? Why do people buy newspapers when they are filled with bad news?
Do you believe the coverage of Palestine/Israel for example?
Do you believe the news on domestic issues?

Most news is slanted to reflect the views of who is providing it. It is up to the individual to be smart enough to hear the issue without the opinion being force-fed right along with it. I watch the news sometimes, but I prefer to read it so that I can pick through the garbage and get to the truth. I also find it helpful to get the news from a few different sources. this way you get the different angles and it helps to filter out the truth from the propoganda.
