What are some good recipes for cooking with apples? I have recipe for apple pie but I am looking for other ideas as well. My three year old daughter loves apples and I would like to find some kid friendly recipes for apples. She does like apple pie so I would love to expand on other ideas. I am hoping my sons will want to try as well. My kids are picky eaters but are eagerly and willing wanting to try different types of fruit. Vegetables are a different story though lol. So if you have any ideas or tips or recipes please share because I would love to try them out.......

i loved apples just cooked by themselves w/any kind of meat & veggies. i just peel my apples , put them in a skillet w/better, sugar [i use sweetner] & salt. cover them about half way w/water , put a lid on them & when they get tender , take off the lid & let them cook down low.

My kids love apples too. Mostly they eat them whole, but sometimes muffins of bread are good too. CINNAMON APPLE MUFFINS 1 1/2 cups flour 3/4 cup sugar 1 1/2 t. baking powder 1 t. cinnamon 1/2 cup milk 1/3 cup butter, melted* 1 egg, slightly beaten 1 cup finely chopped apples Heat oven to 375°F. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and cinnamon in medium bowl. Add all remaining ingredients. Stir just until flour is moistened. Spoon batter into muffin liners. Bake 18-23 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes. * Can Substitute butter with Canola Oil. http://www.cooks.com/rec/view/0,1756,135177-240197,00.html

There is something I cook called apple crisp. I normally cook it on holidays but the children love it. Apples flour brown sugar butter I cut the skin off of the apples. Then I cut the apples into slices. I layer them on the bottom of a pan. Then in a bowl I will mix together some flour and brown sugar. I will then mix together some butter. The flour will start to get hard and stick together to the sugar. I will then cover the put the mixture over the apples and put a little butter on top. I will let it bake on 350 degrees until the top is golden brown and the apples are soft.
