I have a metel wire drawer from a open hanging file system that I turn over and place my laptop on. It allows air all around it and it is the right size. it works well for me hope it works for you.

yes i think even a raised platform can also get you in a comfortable position. just a little level. i sometimes even keep a few books at the back to get the height and then the heat level goes down. try that also. it is a cheap and effective way you see.

That's a good idea in some situation , which does not use the notebook cooler. Have a nice day.

Mine seemes to do that, too. I've got an old IBM thinkpad. But nothing ever happens from it. It just gets hot, but only to a certain extent. I was worried too when it first happened. Biut I've been on for hours and n o smoke or nothing.

You mean you don't do anything to your notebook or turn off for a while.

Laptops do get warm whilst in use but if you are talking about your laptop feeling hot to the touch then it's a good chance that your laptop is overheating. When you turn your laptop on do you hear the fan spinning? This is the cooling fan that should be keeping your laptop cool inside. If not then it could be faulty. There could be some buildup of dust around your internal fan which also could prevent it from working at optimum speed. How long have you had the laptop? Anyway, good luck. Andrew

Thanks a lot for your attention, it's 1.5 years since I bought it and still in warranty. The cooling fan is not problematic, just sounded loud when hot. Notebook Overheat has been overcame by using Notebook Cooler. Have a nice day.

I have an old Dell laptop and it doesn't get very hot to begin with but when it does I either put it on a special stand like the others have suggested or I lift it up above my lap for about 30 seconds (if im in bed or on the couch). That only works because my computer is a gaming laptop with a very good cooling system though, so I would recommend getting a stand. You can find them online at E-Bay or Amazon. Just do a search and you will get the idea of what we are talking about.

Which CPU is installed in it. Is it AMD, then it is normal for it to heat unless you think this is heating too much. Your room might be hot all the times, try not letting it too warm when using Laptop. Also, if there is very little space around laptop for air to pass, it is likely to heat up in that case. You can also take it to its manufacturer's store and get it checked by the experts.

That is a major problem with most lap tops what I would recommend is purchasing a stand for your laptop. The have some that also includes fans that will additionaly cool your lap top how ever I have had one of those and all it seemed to do was blow more dust up to the fan. Once I realized that it was doing that I just did not use the additional fan and it kept my lap top much cooler allowing more air circulation to reach the parts that heat up. Good luck on getting it figured out and happy my lotting.

I think u put ur notebook in ur leap at the time of using or table and the fan location of ur notebook is on the bottom side of ur notebook, due to this ur notebook feel hot after using few hours. Just check the fan location in ur notebook and at the time of using ur notebook make some distance between notebook's fan and surface ,i hope this helps ur notebook to keep cool.or may be possible that there is any voltage problem or there is battery problem with ur notebook battery.Just check once to replace ur old battery with new one.
