I'd like to know people's first impressions of the new Windows 7? Has anyone else had a chance to download and try it out?
I picked it up a couple days ago and installed it, and I must say I was shocked. Not at how good it was, not at how revolutionary, but at how EXACTLY THE SAME it was as Vista. They made a couple more little gimmicks, and easier ways to get at some of the hard-to-find but useful features. Other than that, it looks exactly like Vista all over again, with a slight facelift.
Much of the backend looks about the same. The only major difference I've found is that when you load a program, it now loads the UI first, rather than the process. Meaning the window for the program will pop up on your screen before the process running the program has really started. This gives the end user the impression that the computer is running faster, when really it isn't.
Comments? Do you like the new design of the desktop and all, albeit similar to vista? Any other thoughts on what you want to see out of a new Microsoft OS?

Hey,
I have heard kinda the opposite. I have seen people actually make videos comparing the boot time and shutdown time comparing to Vista. So I know that at least the computers will shutdown faster. But other than that I can't comment. Happy MyLotting!

Its interesting to hear that., but I don't think so it will create a good review, sounds like the microsoft is just playing in making an OS. Their Vista is not making a hit, and many users still love the xp..

Interesting... I had no idea that there was a Windows 7 Beta out right now! I'll check it out. However if its EXACTLY like vista I'm not sure if I should get it. :D
