Why boys??? Not girls...??

Well, the answer would turn into a Gender fight but I would take a chance. Its because girls are easy targets for criminals. The most unfortunate thing in this world is that even if the crime is done against the girl, she still faces this world as she was the criminal. This is the most unfortunate thing of this world. May be people don't want girl for that reason. Education will decrease the level of fear but it will not clear it from the mind of people. May be this is the reason. Another reason could be the dowry system.

1) Most people would have prefer boys its because of the family name. The girl would lose her family name once she gets married. Its not the same with boys. Boys carry with them the family legacy. Unlike the girls, again once they are married its their husband family and his legacy that her children would carry. 2) Girls are a gem. You don't want to put a scratch on it. Unlike boys, boys are rough and you worry lest when you have a boy. This is just an observation. But I would not mind having a girl in the family.

I am single(divorced) and my ex did not want children. Now I am at an age where finding a suitable woman who would be young enough to be frank to have a child is not too likely. I would very much like to have a child and I would prefer a female so not everyone prefers boys. Now if I were to have two then maybe one of each but if it is just one than I want a girl. As far as to why some prefer boys I guess it has something to do with carrying on the blood line or something; in much of the western culture the family name is passed down through the male side but I am not sure about eastern cultures.
