I am sooo tired of hearing how he is going make everything perfect. Well he isn't. HE is inheriting a lot of big problems. It will be all he can do to fix them...if they can be at this point.
What most people do not realize is that for the next four years he will be working on our ecomony and war on terror. Wehter Obama likes it or not those have to be his focus...therefore putting all that stuff he said on the campaign trail are going to have to go on the back burner.
People are building him up to impossible levels...which means if he only does a good job it will seem like a let down. He is being set up for failure by the very people who say they like him.

There are going to be high expectations for Obama, he has a huge mess to work on, and it is not going to be overnight like many people think. I think a lot of people are expecting everything to be perfect right away and not realizing how much he has to work on, and how much time it will take to "fix" the problems of the country.

I think most people are realistic. They know there is a big mess here. About all I hear them say is "At least he'll be better than Bush" and that doesn't set the bar awfully high.

I voted for Obama but I really wish people would stop thinking he is going to change the world, he is going to cure cancer..blah,blah,blah.
Obama is a politician like any other his skin tone is just different.
They are all the same!
I expect nothing more from him than I did any other president.
Anybody can do better than Bush! I hope Bush has a beautiful retirement and I hope his brother does not run ever! We have seen enough of the Bushes.
But as far as Obama he is not GOD or Jesus. People are expecting a miracle.
Did we expect miracles from any other president?
Hopefully Obama fixes what he can. But we should not expect him to be more than any other president.

Well, he certainly has his work cut out for him. I can't remember a president who has ever come into office with so much trouble on so many fronts. Probably it hasn't happened since FDR and that was before I was born. I used to say that he at least has to be better than Bush but I think the times now call for a whole lot more than that. He almost has to be a great president for us to avoid catastrophe. I have high hopes or this new presidency but sometimes I wonder if it isn't too much to ask from one president.

I expect Obama to just continue to screw everything up even more than it already is and make it harder on the American people. I don't look for anything great out of him but at the same time I am hoping I'm wrong. I just hope he doesn't get us into a bigger war with Iran. If he turns out to be a "YES" man for big money (like Bush) that is exactly what will happen.

I think anyone can do something better than Bush. I think what Obama has that will help his presidency is CLASS. Not like the McCain's "high class", but actually classy. He showed class throughout his campaign, and I think that will definitely work in his favor, because Bush's arrogance did not help the country.
I also believe because he is a family man and has very good family values, which leads me to believe that he will do what he believes will be best for the future of his children as well as the rest of the country.
I will admit, at first I wasn't sure what to think about him, but the more I read up, watched the news, etc, the more appealing he became. Unlike Bush and many others, his experience with the lower and middle class, and actually CARING about those who fall in the categories, set him apart from the rest.
I am not going to set my expectations high at first, because he has one big mess to clean up once he is sworn into office. But, I do feel that he is genuine in wanting to bring this country to where it needs to be, and I hope he can accomplish even just a fraction of that, because it will take much longer than just a few years to undo what has been done in the Bush administration.
