What Do You Think Of MyLot's Anti-Spam System?

I think myLot has a very good anti-spamming system. People who join who just means to spam won't stay long because they have to make 500 posts before they can do copy and paste! Another that myLot does is one-liner posts are deducted from your number of posts not quite sure of that though. As most of us know, smilies are also disabled until you reach 200 posts (I think...LOL) So what do you guys think about myLot's anti-spam system? Do you think there is anything they could add to fight spam?

it is quite a good system to fight spam... also to ensure a good and long conversation with the discussion... and this is the first ptp that has an anti spam features that any ptp dont have... even you have a mod if theres no anti spam features theres no way they can pin point the error of some new members on mylot... thats a good discussion you tell us yuna good thinking...

For me was strange first time I tried to copy and paste a piece of text on one of my post and saw I couldnĀ“t. But you know, this is a great idea to get spammers away. Everything that comes to help increase the quality of the site is more than welcome.

yep, I agree with u.Absolutely! mylot has its own rules. as u say, one cannot paste any words before he has 500 post number. But I've also found it confused when I typed most of words, it happend that connecting error or other accident, my hard working is over. but I ctrl-c at first. But I found it is impossible for me to paste it. omg... and mylot has its own evaluation system, everyone can comment others or report abuse. it is ok or it not. I think it's a very ripe setup. and our effort will make it more excellent!

I do agree with mylot's anti spam system. This will curb abuses and keep away spammers. When one has posted more than 500 messages he or she will learn how the site works and thus there is less risk that he or she will abuse the system. Those who have bad intentions will fall away and will not use this site. (c) ronaldinu 2009 - the more people I meet-the more I love my dog

Hi there my friend! Your signature always makes me smile whenever I see it whether I'm responding to your discussion or your commenting. Anyway, just to add, if people just meant to have fun they won't even notice that they reached the minimum number of posts for doing copy-paste! Thanks for the response!

I think it is great also. All of us do not come here to spend our time and gain friends, just to be spammed. It has happened to me quite a few times in private messages though.

Yeah that's another thing that myLot should add in their spamming system but come to think of it if you don't like the person sending you the PM you can always delete them from your friends and they can't PM you anymore!

It's okay, though I've seen some people still abuse the system after they hit the 500 mark. Sure, it is less likely to happen, but it does happen. Of course I've also seen some users that were under 500 that would cheat their way by copying other peoples posts. It's a good idea to help prevent spamming, but unfortunately it still happens every now and then. I don't know what they could add to help prevent spam, but help from the mylot community alerting admin of such spammers helps cut down the abuse and makes mylot the wonderful place that it is.

You are indeed right! We still cannot avoid spammers here in myLot. After maybe a month of active posting it would be easy for people to spam people. Well anyway like you said we could always report them if we feel their not doing the right thing. Thanks for the response!

Yeah, mylot's anti spamming system is indeed good.. But luckily for me, i dun have a habit of copy and paste and thus that's not a problem for me.. lol =D As for the 500th post, i guess alot of spammers might be put off by that if they really meant to spam, because it's not easy to reach that amount too.. lol =D And i believe they dun have much patience too.. lol =D PLus, who knows after posting for some time, they might fall for mylot instead?? lol =D

Oh good for you! When I started here in myLot I didn't know the policy for copy and paste until I did it. I typed a draft discussion into a word processor, I think it was like 6-7 sentences long to my horror, I can't paste it! Well, what I did is I just retyped in the box. I had no choice

If they deduct one-line posts from your earnings, why not delete them altogether? It's rather irritating to see a bunch of posts in my mailbox that consist of "what's your favorite color?" or something like that. I don't know why it's so irritating, but it is.

When I was new my main goal was to reach 500 posts so that I can post links Fortunately I had enough time to reach 500 posts in less than 2 months. Thanks for the response!

as a newbie here in myLot at first it annoys me because i intentionally start to make blogs from my MS Word publisher because of economical purposes(my internet connection is pay per use, so i type my blogs offline) then when i suddenly try to paste my blogs the Warning pop up.. then eventually i said, anyways everybody will benefit from this anti-spasmming system of my lot. and it is good..

I understand, it did annoy me at first and was wondering why it won't let me do copy and paste. That's what I exactly did when I was new. I typed in a draft in notepad then when I pasted it to my horror it won't accept it. Until then I got used to typing it in directly in the description box in myLot. I hope you are having a great time! Thanks for the quick response!

My lot has good facility to fight against Anti-Spam System as because they have disabled the facility of Copy and Paste . People are now have to think and write a topics by self and have to labour hard for writing new topics.

I think that it is a good idea for myLot to keep guard against the spamming. It can be annoying sometimes to see this. We come on here to earn money and correspond because it is something of a social forum. We don't need spam involved in this. I think they are doing a pretty good job right now with fighting it.

Hi there yuna15 Sure I think it is a good idea, it might make life a bit trickier for all of us but they are only small things that we can all live with in order to make this site a good one!

Ya these kind of things are of course necessary. As we see, it has to be the newbies who are breaking the rules most of the time. Thats because they are not sure of the rules here. As one line discussions or posts are not deducted, people will get very low earnings and will learn that we have to be descriptive and meaningful to earn here. And we see so many responses or comments in single word also. If those people were allowed to use smilies from the beginning, then they will just a smiling face smiley as a post in the comment area. Lol. So we can avoid that. And copy paste will of course reduce spamming. Haha.

Hey, I think that this is pretty good that they have this sort of system. I mean if they wouldn't have this, then MyLot wouldn't be a great community. And honestly, it would have A LOT of spam! I don't really know if they can do any more things to fight spam! Happy Lotting!
