Rich and happy: impossible???

Poor people often do believe that the rich have everything except love, respect and real happiness.Because they DON'T DESERVE it, right? They can't be happy because money can't buy happiness. They must be unhappy, their lives must be filled with scandals and disasters so that honest people could comfort themselves. BUT:the truth is that I met both poor and rich HAPPY AND CONTENTED.I've noticed that when people blame someone for what they are or what they have, they become really sad and disappointed. Imagine you become rich:would you hate rich people while being rich yourself?Would you believe you won't be happy because you're wealthy now?

I think that's been very stereotypical and putting people in boxes there are many happy rich people and many sad poor and vice versa. I've never had money to speak off and I'm happy, very happy, If I had money would it make me happier, yes in the sense that I wouldn't have to worry about how I was to clothe, feed etc three growing children so I suppose it would make life less stressful for me but whether I would be happier I don't think so.

I don't think that all rich or poor people are sad or happy. It depends on who you are and how you take life. If you are poor and sit around envying those that have more instead of doing something about it I am sure you will be unhappy. If you are rich and have problems with infidelity or gambling or whatever then your not going to be happy. Happiness is the one that is self fulfilled no matter their monetary value. Of course I am middle class and I am happy, but don't think I wouldnt love to have a million dollars. I would still be happy. I don't sit around though crying and wasting my life because I don't have it. I just make it a goal. We chose our happiness and our circumstances and we have to see that before we can move on anywhere.

I completely agree. We all have the same emotional problems in life.Whether your rich, average or poor it's how you deal with the reality of living that counts.

Hi silver', unless put in the position of being comfortable with money I really don't know how I would feel, at one stage I didn't have to worry about money and helped my friends and my family whenever they needed it, that made me feel good but now it is the other way round I am back scrimping and scraping to get by like everyone else though am still happy and if I can still help whomever I can it makes me happy and good about myself....littleowl

The point some people make isnt about the person themselves its what they do when they are rich. The rich have this thing that poor people are poor because they dont work hard enough to be rich and they have to work very to be where they are. But there are some that are born with the silver spoon in their mouths and didnt have to work for it. So the rich are only out for themselves and they look down on the poor they dont want to be like them. They are not on their level and just dont care if thats the way it is. If i won the lottery i would remember the poor and the poeple that was around me treated me good who actually done things for me.

i guess it is not fair for people to be judging PERSONs of high status.. yes, i agree, there are some RICH and FAMOUS persons which dont have pleasing attitude. but dont stereotype. if your rich and it because of your hard work, would you allow people to have an impression like the other? and i dont believe than rich people dont have the right to be happy because they are already happy.
