I think it will be very hard to please a guy or to get his feelings back to her if it's already gone. The reason I can see why his guy is being cold is the presence of third party. He found someone better. It's just mean that the guy is not satisfied with her. It's sad but she should need to set him free. If she will insist herself to him, it may continue their relationship but not for long, it would still end up to negative. What she should really do is to talk to him, confront him, ask him why he acted like that, why he is turning to be cold and ask him if he still loves her, if he says he still loves her, but still continue on being cold, I think she has no choice but to set him free and move. Find the right guy.

It shouldn't be too much work to keep a man. I wonder if the man might have just lost his interest in your friend. She shouldn't feel that she needs to try to keep him in my opinion and experience.
