Oh, your PC is too old and too slow. Maybe it hanged because it's lack of memory and your PC configurations are not compatible with your operating system and those softwares installed. Maybe you should just need to downgrade your operating system to Windows 98, or much better if you buy a new one.

you might also want to run an anti virus. if the problem persist I suggest you go back to a lower windows OS since your hardware support a lower version of Windows OS

Hi Jazshaik,Firstly your System Configuaration is too old.
Secondly,Try to disable unnecessary services, remove unnecessary startups(it increases your startup and shutdown time). As many programs are memory hungry try to use your RAM efficiently by running only essential softwares.I think this can solve your problem.

Yes, I agree on most responses, either increase your RAM or get a new one.
Getting a memory tat can fit into your computer's specs may be difficult at the moment, unless you enjoy searching for the right RAM specs within the internet or on any second-hand computer shops.
Best to make an attempt to sell your PC eiher online or to any second-hand computer shop, remove your sentimental attachment from it, and move on saving for a best-deal new PC or Laptop.
I hope that helps.

Hi,
I was using a Pentium 3 PC also loaded with a windows XP. I've experienced the same as what you have experienced and later on landed on a damaged hard disk. At first I thougth it was a RAM or Motherboard issue but it was not. When I transfered my hard disk to a P4 CPU it did showed that it was a hard disk issue.

You can increase the RAM of your computer. You can also check the antivirus that you are using as this may also contribute to the sluggishness of your machine.
You can make also some tweaks to boost the speed of your computer. :-)

Windows XP requires a minimum of 512Mb of RAM to run well. That was why it hung after less than 20 minutes of use. Most probably you had several programs running at the same time.
Apart from increasing the RAM if you can find one, and most probably a second hand one, you can try to increase the amount of hard disk space reserved for Virtual Memory. This brings up the queation of the capacity of your hard disk. Just in case you do not know, virtual memory is the space used by Windows when there is insufficient RAM.
all the best,
rosdimy

Hey there... i think your computer is very old now. You can do few things to speed it up. You can upgrade your RAM. 128 kb is really very less. Try to put a 512 KB RAM atleast so that your computer works good. Another thing you could try is that go to start then programs, then accessaries, then system tools and then go to Disk defragmenter. Do the defragmentation i think this will speed your pc up. YOu should also uninstall the unwanted software. I think you should try theses methods, it is really going to help you. Keep smiling

Okay, here's the thing.
YOUR RAM IS TERRIBLE. I know you know what RAM is, but I'm going to say it anyway. RAM is that memory the computer uses when you open a program; that's different from the hard drive. If you have a RAM that small I think it's time to buy a new--a new thingy that gives you bigger RAMs.
And I'd like to assume that you're computer's old. Old laptops today have 512MB of RAM at the least. Right now this one I'm using has 3GB RAM, so it runs pretty fast that sometimes it scares me a little.
Here's my advice: new thingamajigga for the RAM, or just dump your computer altogether. There are thousands of laptops out there that don't cost much but can offer you a lot.
I hope I helped, though.

you do have a low set of ram. you might wanna try upgrading that to *at least* 512mb. you might wanna go higher though to 1-2gigs of ram. also, try preventing some programs loading up when you start windows as it will speed up and try not to have too many programs opened up at the same time. well, try to have only 1 program opened at a time to prevent your PC from hanging even more.
if you like you're current PC, i suggest just buying more ram... if you want a new one (comes with more ram, yay!) and don't mind dealing with vista, then i suggest buying a new PC.
hope you get your issue resolved!
