Last night I downloaded the new OS from windiws, still in beta. There are some glitches, but it seem better and faster than Vista. Have anyone started testing it yet?

No I have not tested it yet. I prefer for a software to be thoroughly used b others before using it myself. I prefer that flaws are exposed and tried to be solved with patches before I start using it. I am still using windows xp since I did not opt to go for vista. I dont like vista version much.

I've had it for a couple days. It appears slightly faster than Vista because of sequencing changes. It will load your program windows first, rather than the program process itself. As was mentioned in another post, this doesn't show up much on faster machines, but on slower ones it can make a noticeable difference.
I have never had a problem with Vista stability, so I can't really comment on Windows 7 being more stable than vista. However, running the beta for 3 days straight, including installing software and drivers and all, haven't had a crash of blue screen yet!
Hope you enjoy your testing round!

I installed it on my average laptop and it is seems definitely faster. I started with Vista, and as you say I never have any problem with it, I learned fast, it is fairly intuitive. With this beta IE8 seems more secure, but it doesn't want to work properly witouth freezing. As for the desktop the gadgets showed up
only until the first restart and I cannot get it to work again. They are more practical then having them on the sidebar. And the time zone is set to the US one, and I am in the UK and cannot change it. Any way this is the first time I actually tast a beta programme, so I don't really know what to exepct. Alex

Hey,
I haven't actually tried it out myself but I have seen some people do some comparisons. The bootup and shutdown time is much faster when compared to Vista. It also has better memory effiency. ie It doesn't slow down your computer if you have 50 windows open. Hope this helps and happy MyLotting!
