I live in a neighborhood where most of the people are elderly. We have had about 14 inches of snow in the past few days. Last night on the news they broadcasted how the homeowner is responsible for keeping their sidewalks clear. They have a city ordinance here and there is a 250 fine if they choose to cite you. I was thinking about my neighbors so I asked my boyfriend to bring over his snowblower so we could clean the sidewalks on my block. there are about 20 houses and it only took us a couple of hours. This morning I got a knock on my door and it was several of my neighbors with a beautiful basket of tea, cookies, a homemade pie, homemade jelly and such. This was their way of saying thank you. This really uplifted my whole day. Do you try to help out your neighbors?

No I don't help my neghbors and never will! My neighborhood is getting bad and if I could afford it I would move! It is getting to damage to know my neighbors and if they weren't I would not want to know them anyway! I've been taken advantage in the past and now I keep to myself! I like it that way!

I recently moved from a bad neighborhood so I ub=nderstand why you would want to keep to yourself. My old neighborhood I was afraid to leave my house half the time. I was broken into 3 times in the middle of the day while I was at work. I was fortunate enough to be able to move into this neighborhood. I would not have helped in my old neighborhood.

Our next door neighbor is able to take care of most things, but I have helped her by driving her to the trash dump and to the doctor.
