My mom is 92 years old and as spry as ever. She lives alone in her apartment in an elderly apartment building. She does her own cooking, cleaning and washing clothes. About 10 years ago she slipped on some ice and broke her ankle. She still has the pins in, they just didn't take them out. Now she has arthritics/ much pain, so has to get a cortisone injection. She lives in Alberta while I live in British Columbia. It is a two day trip to come to the island, then a ferry to cross the ocean. My brother brings her with him while he visits his son. At Christmas my mom was suppose to come for a visit but was sick so I suggested she go to her doctor which she did. My brother is coming back in April so mom will come along. Now that is terrific that a woman of that age will stay cooped up in a car for hours just to visit me. I love my mother very much. Of course when I was younger we didn't get along so well.

my mom is 67 this year... and i am happy, and thankful to God that she is considered much more fit than women much younger than her.. i know that she's tired, and as much i would like to see her just sit and relax.. that is just not her nature.. she just wont sit still, always busying herself with something... i am so thankful that so far.. she also has no medical conditions.. i just hope that i would grow old, as healthy as fit as her... funny.. when i was younger.. i didnt get along my mom very well, either..

That is so cool. I felt the same way about my Aunt June she would do the same for me. She really meant alot to me. It breaks my heart to think of her now that she is gone. I am so glad that you and your Mom have this wonderful time together to appreciate each other.
