With so many "strange" things happening this day, financial crisis leading so much turmoil into our country. Along with the violence and increase of the overall unsteady ease. Unemployment at all time highs....etc...... Do you think that we really are headed into the last days or is this just the repeat of things that have happend ages before?

Matthew 24:3-8 (New International Reader's Version)
3 Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives. There the disciples came to him in private. "Tell us," they said. "When will this happen? And what will be the sign of your coming? What will be the sign of the end?"
4 Jesus answered, "Keep watch! Be careful that no one fools you. 5 Many will come in my name. They will claim, 'I am the Christ!' They will fool many people.
6 "You will hear about wars. You will also hear people talking about future wars. Don't be alarmed. Those things must happen. But the end still isn't here. 7 Nation will fight against nation. Kingdom will fight against kingdom. People will go hungry. There will be earthquakes in many places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.
These things have been going on for decades now, so in the not too distant future the "last days" must end and something new, something better must start.

Very good breakdown 1hopefulman. My son would love your pic. He is a total superhero fan. I can not argue one point you have stated here. I have not heard the fact that it has been going on for years be yet another sign of things to come, rather than just a repeated stated claim. The weather, the food issues (speaking on inflation/lack) Snow where there was not b4 etc.... I really appreciate your response. Thanks to you my friend

I am in agreement with all you have posted. I also would like to ask you did you see that story on the place in another country where the lions were laying with the babes? I cant recall the place right off hand, but I saw it a few months back and the biblical reference popped in my head. You have done such a great job responding you get best response.

ladygator, I learned English from reading comic books. Superman was one of my favorites. I guess I liked the fact that he was always helping people and that he never lied.
It seems that the expression "last days" you are referring to is found at:
2 Timothy 3:1-5 (King James Version)
1This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
and also at
2 Peter 3:1-5 (King James Version)
1This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
2That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
3Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
So it seems that the "last days" would be a period of difficult times of uncertain length. Just like when we say that these are the last days of Winter, we mean that soon Spring will be here. You may notice that some would "scoff" at this, not all would believe.
Personally I'm convinced from what I see happening that it won't be long before wickedness and wicked ones end. True we will never know exactly the time when that will happen but hopefully it won't be too long now.

...no.
People have been predicting the end of the world for as long as there's been people. The only things these predictions have in common is that they've been wrong.
The watchtower society predicted no less than eight ends of the world in the 20th century alone. I can't help noticing it's still here.

I do notice we are still here you are right at that Wolfechu. I am not absolutly certain it will be in my lifetime. However I really cant help but notice the escalation of how things are turning very corrupt. I am certain that it must be worse than it was way back then. And in a way saying that it will come soon is not false only because Gods time is nothing like ours I am sure.
Thanks for responding. And your profile pic is cute. I love animals.

The answer is so simple. There is no answer because Jesus said "I know not when the end is come for ONLY my Father knows. That should be your answer, for scholars and the common person alike. We should always be prepared no matter when the time comes. So quit guessing and keep preparing. smiles softly...................

Hi ladygator, yes I do more then ever feel we are living the last days. I am a solid christian believer, and believe in what the Bible says, so much of what is happening in this world today, was prophesied and is spoken of as the signs that would indicate that God is going to be coming for His bride (church) soon. These are perilous times we are living in, and I believe the rapture of the Church is very close. "If I believe in God and there is no God, what have I loss, if I believe there isn't a God and there is a God, my God what have I loss. Thank you for the discussion, be wishes for 2009, be happy, be joyful, be safe, be strong! oohcute2340

I am a christian myself. I have a dvd about the apocalypse and I have not watched it in all the 2 years I have had it. This outlines all the signs of the time that will come. I do see that more "unusual" things have been happening. Its alltogether scary and amazing to let my mind explore these happenings. I still am not certain that it will happen in the next 10 years or before or even a bit after that.
Thanks for the well wishes, oohcute. I am working on doing just that.

Yeah I agree with that. We cant answer this for real, unless it actually happens. And we witness it with our own eyes.

That he did. But He did also tell us to be prepared for it when it does happen.

I do not believe in any last days. All that 'end of the world' is nothing but nonsense started by religions. Life is an on-going flow and will continue for ever and ever, without an end. It will continue in this form or in some other form. Financial crisis have always been there in this world. That is not something new and we need not feel so threatened about it.

Good reply. I was thinking in this direction also. I do however have a hard time somewhat with the financial part. But I look at it kinda like a potential car accident. I can be going along paying attention and someone else comes along and smashes my car up. Thus causing tons of hardships and slower payments on my bills.
