Hey Everyone.
I think Avatar also plays a role in getting good responses. Do you agree with that???
Adding avatar gives us an identity. So people will add us. More friends gives more responses of course.
Most of the time when I see the no responses section, it will be by the people without avatar only.
Whats your view here???

Avtar plays no role in getting more responses or attract more traffic to the discussion, i have noticed person having no avatar or even new to mylot get loads of response comparing to older one.
The main thing in attracting traffic to the discussion is i think the quality as well as quantity of the discussion, the time in which it been started, the subject matter or interests and most important is if it is the members own thought.

Of course one or two discussions can be like that. Ok try to watch this. Go to hot discussions and top discussions. Most of them will be the ones that are created by the person with Avatar.
Also some people will say that when we add an image with the discussion it will give even more responses. When thats true, why not avatar play some role in getting responses??? Lol.
Happy to have your response. Happy mylotting.

I also share the same view, the members with no avatar often attract less attention and may get less responses to their discussions. Some very catchy avatars attract us and we go on answering their discussions. Some of the members are very particular in choosing a catchy avatar and it pays in the long run to them.

Ya you are right. The others get just less attention to their discussions. And so low number of responses also. But if the discussion is too good, even they will get good number of responses. But thats rare of course. Haha.
Happy to have your response. Happy mylotting.

I absolutely agree with you. As people will have no more impressions to the people who have default avatars. A good avatar can let others remember you and therefore it's likely you will be friends. And your discussion will have a higher possibility to have more responses.

And permanent avatar can help others to remember us also. So I don't have any idea to change my current avatar. Lol.

I usually use it to recognize people I like to follow or are of similar opinions. I don't think it matters if you have an avatar or not. I've added friends and I do follow some of their posts but I still fail to see the point as they don't follow mine (no offense to those reading ;) ).

That just happens. Some may be just interested in starting more discussions rather than posting in other discussions. So you may be missing posts from them.

Hello vidhyavini! In my case, avatar is not really important with me when adding someone and or when responding to a discussion. The main thing for me is whether how long he/she's been here, her reputation and the quality of posts that he/ she had. Avatar has nothing to do with it. But I guess some members do.

Adding friends by that is fine. Those who don't have avatar and who have less number of posts will not get much friend request as the others get. Lol. Thats the fact. People will of course get attracted to pictures. Haha.
I see the pictures and you see the reputation of the person. Seems like both are important. Haha.
Happy to have your response. Happy mylotting.

Yes you are right. it gives us identy. Even me too give response based on Avatar. Avatar creates Virtual image of opposite person in mind.It also represet interest and type of person.

Yes I do think so. Adding an aviator makes life interesting more for mylotters. You will earn more responses if you put a picture in your avator. It distinguishes from the newbie to the experienced mylotter. Iam in favour of placing a picture in your avator.

Ya i also think so..i dont reply much to a person who does not have a avatar..i'm on the impression that if the person is unable to upload a avatar its because of the eime factor and if he's not having time that much he wouldnt care to mylot and would not care about the comments that we give in..that is my impression..so i dont reply these people, but sometimes i do when i find the discussion really intresting and attractive...

I don't actually mind if its a newbie because many will find it difficult to locate the place to change the avatar. Lol. So when responding to the discussion, I used to tell them to change the avatar also.
And your view is also right. I do accept that.

Hi Vidhya,
Lol, sure everybody will love your avatar and it is so innocent. Do you think your avatar will helps to get more responses?
Hi dear, how are you, I just asked for a fun the above question. May be your view point is right. Some avatars are attractive and people like to look on the same and that why their discussion also and if they can find any interesting discussion they will definitely answer. But I am not much bothered on avatars and when I see some interesting one I will give a reply. But avatar will helps to get an easily recognition. Good luck.

Ya you are right. We can get easy recognition. When some of our friends look at the avatar, they will tend to read the title with more interest as they know us.
Otherwise just a glance will be done. In that way, avatar will of course help. And even I will respond only to quality topics. Avatar can get more views and quality will get more responses. Is that fine now???

I think so. Give yourself an identity and you're almost there. Sometimes these work better than a photo especially if they represent an attractive idea.
Just look at my avatar. I thought it was the coolest when I discovered it. I wouldn't change it for the world - and not for any photo of me - that's for sure !

Of course I do accept that. I am not saying that its the only factor to get more responses. But its one of the factors. When we see a person's profile without avatar, we pay less attention to that. May be its me. Haha.
Happy to have your response. Happy mylotting.

Haha. Ya of course title is also important. I am not saying that avatar is the major factor to get more responses. But its also one among them. Am I right??

That could be possible. My avatar is ugly so no one responses to me. I guess people go toward colorful pictures or a person picture. I tend to go to avatars that look cute like yours lol. I might work on my avatar but I'm too lazy.

Haha. I don't think its a too hard job to find a good picture and upload it. Making that will give you some differences in the number of responses that you get. So go for it. And as you said, some picture of a person could be more attractive. Or something different.

I tend to be ok with those that don't have aviators because I was so clueless when I got on here as to how to upload one. Plus you have to post for a while before you can even get one. That aside, you are right. I've read discussions from others that are more drawn to those that have aviators. They are missing out. I've been in on some great discussions of those with the basic aviators.

Ya you are right. Even I needed help to add Avatar when I was new. I added avatar only after few days and I felt that its a must and so only added it. Lol. Only by that experience I am saying.
And of course, some discussions by them will also get good responses. But I am talking about the majority of the discussions. Pictures will get impressions.
Happy to have your response. Happy mylotting.

I totally agree on you on that, in fact whenever, I get online, I can easily identify my friends or any active members here in mylot with the avatar they are using, just like mine I believe that my friends know if I am around responding to discussions with this little torch, an identity of me in here. Avatars play some significance as to the username's culture, lifestyle, hobbies or something that others can identify or relate to the person. Although, I can remember usernames but definitely those who uses permanent avatars are much easily responded by me.

Ya you are right. We can easily identify the person by their Avatar. In Social networking sites I do keep changing the avatars. But here, I don't do that much as my friends may miss my discussion. Haha.

I don't think so. Before when I just joined here I was not activating my avatar cause that was not important, now that I already activated it the response is still the same. I think the bottom line of that is the quality of your discussions and topics..cheers

We don't know the views that we get for our discussions. I am actually not saying that its the only factor thats important. But I think it has to be one of the factor.
May be its me. I will not tend to open the discussions without avatar much unless it impresses me too much. And that doesn't mean that I respond to the discussions with avatar all time. Sometimes the contents may not be our interest and so we come out without responding.
So to just get in, avatar is needed. If possible an image with the discussion also. And after that to make them respond to our discussion, we need quality in the posts I guess.

Yes, I agree, especially the avatar is eye-catching. The user's own photo is self speaking, and the pictures of a site, a celebrity, an art piece, etc. tell a lot about the launchers' background, personality, hobby... I enjoy looking into those avatars.

As you know the benefits yourselves, adding that will help you to earn a bit more. Lol.
