Do you pray to God before having your food?

Yes I do that always and my family as well. Let us give thanks to God's graces before we eat. Even I was in public place I pray before to eat and that was not only a good practice but our duty to thank Him in every way especially the food we eat.

This is a wonderful habit, it nevers hurts to be thankful to all who had contributed to the food that you eat. To often we thake things for granted and forget how truly blessed we are.

No because I am not religious my friend, maybe I should thank the universe for my food as for me it was the universe that created me, and I often thank Mother nature for what she has provided us and I try not to take too much for granted either! I guess those who believe in God or are religious will still thank their God for the food but do many people do that now? Is it still as popular to find people sitting around their table thanking God for food, because most families never eat at the same time do they?

I do thank Him before I eat, as I do frequently during the day for other things. I am very blessed, my life could have been so different if not for His guiding hand.

why should i??? i bought it, cooked it, and have to do the dishes after words.....god didn't have anything to do with it.

I don't believe in God so i don't pray.

From elementary until high school, I pray before and after taking meals. Now in college, I pray before I eat. My school environment was different before college. It was devout and all.. Everyone was Catholic so we have the same prayers.. Now I have friends in Catholics who I observed, do not pray before/after meals. So I guess I got influenced. But I'm making praying before/after a habit again. Thanks for this discussion. :)

yes before we eat we pray..my parents taught me how to pray when i was a child..thanking the food for everyday.

Hello smilyn! Yes, I do pray and thank God for giving us this food before starting to eat although I admit that I forgot to do it sometimes. But it rarely happen. Most of the time, I don't want to miss not to pray and thank Him for all the blessings that He has given to me.

We filipinos are very religious. So, ofcourse we practice those. We pray before having our meals and also before going to sleep. It is good to know that we don't forget HIM and thank HIM for the meals we have and for the wonderful days HE gave us.
