There were a few cartoons that I used to watch all the time as a young child and the main characters I enjoyed were ones like Magilla Gorilla, Hong Kong Phooey, JabberJaw and Muttley. Whacky Races was a popular one for me and that cartoon had a number of fun characters in it also. (Including Muttley)

I think, my vote will go to Tom and Jerry, they make such a funny and amusing pair that one cannot stop laughing. I watch it on TV, if a get an opportunity, specially when my son is also watching the same, because I know that laughter is the best medicine and these kind of cartoon programmes, give us ample opportunity to laugh and laugh!

I love Jerry the mouse when i was child. Our local TV station broadcast the cartoon show Tom and Jerry every Sunday. So every Sunday i always spent a long time to sit before TV set to wait for the show. Good memory of being a child. There is not a happy day now like that.

I really can't remember but I would have to say Bugs Bunny was my favorite. I can remember watching Bugs every Saturday morning when I was a little girl. Now kids have so many shows to watch.

Alley Oop, I guess, but today I have no clue as to why. I guess because it is the only one I remember. The pun about Einstein was pretty funny to a youngster--- Dr. OneMug! Here is a strip if you haven't seen it before: http://home.comcast.net/~cjh5801/Alley1.htm

I had 2 faves, can't decide which one was better! lol. For me, there were the Smurfs, but for some reason, they aren't around these days, unless you pay a small fortune and get pay tv here in australia (something we don't need). The other is Care Bears (yes, I'm tragic! lol) and I am able to share that with my girls as there has been a big come back recently and now they are obsessed too! lol. Other cartoons would include Peanuts, Gummi Bears and Rainbow Brite. don't forget Scooby Doo!

The only way my girls can watch them is if I buy them on DVD or get pay tv, neither is going to happen in a hurry though, trying to minimize my spending sprees

I had a hard time trying to decide which character is my favorite. I mean especially during activities when the teachers would ask us to put a list of all our favorite things and cartoon character is one of them. I know it used to be Tweety when I was younger but for some reason I gravitated more toward Tasmanian Devil. I just like that he keeps things interesting circling around, hehehe Though I have to say that when I got a bit older I leaned more toward Pokemon or Pocket Monsters I know that its probably an anime cartoon but still I am sure that its my favorite. One of mt favorites at least.^_^

Hey Mim, You never said who your favorite was. My all time favorites were Tweety Bird and Sylvester. I loved that silly yellow bird and that goofy cat. I had a kitten I named Sylvester because she was a little slow mentally. I knew she was a female but she looked so much like Sylvester except she was gray and white. Now who is yours? leenie

I remember having quite a number of favorite cartoon characters during my childhood, like Garfield, Tom & Jerry, Snoopy, Donald Duck, Chip and Dale. I don't see any Snoopy cartoons now, but Donald & friends are still around. I now watch these with my nephews and niece - that grumpy duck (Donald Duck) never grows old!

I used to enjoy watching a lot of Superbook and the Flying House cartoons. They are these kids who tend to go back to times told in the Bible and I always enjoyed that. The other Christmas, one of Boyfriend's mom's presents to me was a few of these dvds and I was ecstatic to get them without even asking for them. But until now, I still have only watched one episode. I have other favorites as well. I love Lady and the Tramp. But that was a movie.

there are many characters that i like . mainly i like english cartoons and i dont understand why i dont like chinese and japanese cartoons . they are good for many people but i dont like them , i like TOM AND JERRY, SNURFS, DEXTER'S LABORATORY, POPEYE THE SAILOR MAN, BUGS BUNNY, HEIDI AND LAST BUT NOT THE LEASE WALT DISNEY CHARACTERS FROM MICKY MOUSE TO DUCK TALES . and many more and i forget them now as it has been so long for me after i stopped them .its was not my intention but they have increased the prices of the channel in which they were telecasting it , so i was able to afford it ,so i was forced to stop viewing them

You know what, even I like English cartoons. Do not know some how the flavor is being lost in regional cartoons and they become caricatures. And also the dubbed English cartoons are awful!

I used to love Tom & Jerry, I used to have a few on video and I used to watch them all the time. I've noticed how much children's programmes have changed now compared to how they were when I was a child. Postman pat is now different and I can't stand watching Mr Men with my nephew . . bring back the originals!

Strawberry Shortcake definitely... I had the records, and the dolls that farted a strawberry smell every time you squeezed them. I ate strawberries alot specifically because I loved Strawberry Shortcake. I even took a Strawberry Shortcake lunch box to my first day of school... and I kept it. I wanted my niece to carry it on her first day of school, but these days I guess tin lunchboxes have been outlawed... so disappointing!
