Yes, at times they do. But I think, what is important is that they should stick to the issue. It is the issue that should be resolved. Lovers should be very cautious not to utter words that can hurt their partner's feelings because you can never take back what has been said.

Yes, my fiance and I have a STRONG relationship and we have our fair share of fights. We know that, in the end, we have an unconditional love that will not be broken. We have arguements about issues, but we are not mean at each other, call each other names, or demean each other. We have the type of relationship where we allow each other to get angry, vent our feelings, and understand that we're going to be wrong about things sometimes. Then, once we've vented, we have a decent conversation about the issue and sort things out. It's all part of the "work" that goes into a relationship to keep it going.

I know for a sure they do. I have been with the same guy for 8 years now (if that aint love then I dont know what is) and we have some pretty bad fights. But as long as you know when to stop yelling and realize who was wrong then you will be fine. A fight does not last forever...
