School was canceled today because of the weather

Well unfornatly I live in VA and where I'm at it doesn't snow but once every few years of we're lucky. I wish it would snow more though. We do have hurricanes but I miss the snow. My kids keep asking "Santa" for snow.. every year... but they still don't get it. It's a good thing that the school called before you left the house. I think that boss's should take into account that if school is cancelled than maybe they should be a little nicer to people who call out cause there's NO WHERE for them to tkae their children.

That is lucky for you; I sometimes wish my school had been closed because of bad weather, but it never seemed to happen for me! It is good that you got a phonecall though; some school let the children get all the way to school, and then send them home again, expecting them to somehow find their own way back home, so it's good that they didn't do that.

what i hate is when school get cancelled and i STILL have to risk my life and go to work! i wish my bosses would take a cue from the school board (which cancels at 6:00 am for the day as they dont/cannot send kids home during the day).

Wow, I'm glad that your family received the notice before your daughter left to school. It probably doesn't look bad now but maybe your area is expected a lot of snow over the next few hours. Drive safely and stay warm!
