i am pregnant with identical twin girls. i was making them afghans for when they are born. i just finished them. i made them the same except one has "Isabella" crocheted in it for my one girl and the other has "Elianna" crocheted into it for my other girl. i can't wait for the girls to come now so i can use the afghans.

i followed a pattern to do the afghans. i crocheted the names in as i was crocheting the afghan. you just switch to a different color of yarn when you get to the part with the name.

I was thinking of doing something similar but I didn't think I could figure it out so I was considering embroidering it in somehow.

What a beautiful afghan. I know these will be VERY special to them for years to come!! Love how you did the names on them. You should do their hospital pictures with these blankets.
How soon are you due?? Best of luck with your twins!

Your afghans are very beautiful. I am sure that your little girls will cherish them forever.I love making gifts for each child even my grandkids. I quilt and crochet and have made both for my own kids now I have to make quilts for all the grandkids.By you making the afghans your self your girls will love them even more. Nice to see that handmade gifts are not all gone yet.
