Do you prefer buying new or used games?

I like to get them new as much as possible when they're disc format, because a lot of people don't know how to handle games that are disc format, it seems. If it's an older game like an NES, SNES or N64, there's a good chance it's used and I'm ok with that. Trying to find a sealed copy of a rare NES game on ebay is a pain in the a$$. If it's a Game Boy Advance or DS game, I can settle for used, but I prefer a complete copy or new.

I prefer to get new games because you don't know where the used games have been. Plus the game might not even work.

I prefer new games actually myself. I feel more comfortable when buying new games because I know the produvt works. I bought a used ds game one time and it kept freezing at a certain point.

Yeah, I'm that way. That sucks that you got a DS game that didn't operate properly. I hope you were able to return it.

Generally I will go for new. Every now and then used, depends on the price. I know getting new games from Gamestop feels kind of hokey sometimes because they sell "new" games that are already opened. Also, sometimes you buy a used one and it does not have the instruction booklet.

Yes, I would agree to that. CDs are so easily damaged and if you used scratched CDs, you'll probably damage your play unit easily too. That is true also with movie CDs, can't buy those that are already used. Heck, I don't even want to rent them. That's the reason why I can't buy a Playstation unit anymore, I don't think I can find used CDs to use for them. Even that's an old system unit, I would still love the games that I used to play.

I like to buy used games because they are cheaper. Well instores its pretty expensive but on ebay its unbelievably cheap. Ebay you can buy anything game even though they dont sell at the store. As long as the game works I'm OK with it. Used is always best because not people have the money to buy everything new unless you are a collector or it just came out.

I prefer to buy it used but only if I can check the disk for scratches ect.. Which not very many places let you do. So I usually end up paying full price just to get a working game that I can trust.

I agree with you. Its better to buy new games when they are in disk format because the used disks have been damage in most of the cases.

Personally I very rarely buy new games, most of the time I just go to EB games and buy a used one. That way I save a few bucks and I get a game out of the deal. Overall I would say that buying used games seems to make the most sense to me. I personally don't have a lot of money to spend on that kind of thing so when I do I try to make the buy count.
