A 10-year-old is recovering in the hospital after he was hit by a driver in east Houston who then fled the scene. That's when the youngster's nine-year-old best friend jumped into action, carried him home, and called 911. Police said the vehicle stopped long enough for someone to get out, remove the bike from underneath the car, and leave the scene. How cold! http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?section=news/local&id=6602870 Do you agree? There was no good reason not to stop? Lock them up throw away the key!

that's prettycold hearted, it was probably some drunk guy or someone with no license trying to avoid jail time and fines, he could have killed that boy and didn't even have the decency to stop and make sure he was ok....people like that deserve to be thrown in jail with all the other criminals and never have the chance to see the light of day again

This one I hadn't heard of, although my wife keeps me informed of much of this kind of thing. I detest hit and run divers, although I suppose few people would have any other response to them. Sometimes people panic after and accident, and I might try to be a little understanding, but the consequences can be dire. Running away from a problem doesn't solve it. I had this conversation with my daughter about honesty. Essentially, I told her it was better to own up to what she did and face the consequences than to try to hide it. If she is always honest with me, I said, then I know I can trust her. But, if she tries to evade the truth or avoid trouble when questioned.. well, that is a big problem for me as a parent. A hit-and-run driver is callous in their disregard for the person they have harmed. It is as if they are still a child who thinks they can cover up their misdeed. I hope they find the culprit in this case and hit them hard for the cruelty and coldness described.

Exactly my thought on the matter..except no throw away the key in case it could be found I would say torch the key till melted beyond use and description. People like that don't deserve second chances. I bet he was afraid of jail and insurance going up and everything else but still no excuse not to have stopped and called 911 and waited.

That is ridiculous. I hope they find the driver. That was a very good thing that the boy did for his friend.

That is just terrible. It is amazing how cold hearted some people can be. That person probably did not have insurance or something stupid and was trying to get out of a ticket or worse and did not give a darn about the fact that he could have killed someone.
