NO snowball fight or snowmen!!!

My son is 5 and last week we had some snow, not a lot but a bit, he loved it and was quite happy throwing snow at me!!! When I said oh you can have a snowball fight today at school he said no we are not allowed to pick the snow up and throw it incase it has a stone in, he also said they were not allowed to make a snowman if they wanted to play with the snow then they would have to use their feet to shuffle it along!! I was so shocked for crying out loud they are only 5/6 they are hardly going to throw snow with a stone in on purpose, they are young, let them have some fun rather than keep making up all these stupid rules!!! What do you think? I just find it sad how times have changed, we use to love having snowball fights and making snowmen at school with our friends!

For the snowball fights I can see why they are not allowed. They could easily get hurt, unintentionally, even without a stone in the snowball. I remember being hit in the face few times, and snow in the eye can be quite painfull. But for the snowman, I really cannot see why wouldn't it be allowed. They cannot get hurt in any way by making a snowman.

Thanks for your response, I agree with you, guess not everyone likes being hit with a snowball but the snowman thing is crazy!!!

Well, I can kind of understand about snowball fights - with a snowball fight, it's easy to target a smaller kid, or gang up on someone that the bullies don't like. But snowmen? How is it bad to make a snowman? That's terrible!
