Hello megsgem! I watch american idol too last night and it's really entertaining. Actually the audition part is one of my favorite. I know others are really crazy and I ever wonder too if they know they look crazy during the audition. Actually, I like the blind guy who got the ticket to hollywood last night. I thought he is inspiring.

I believe we all think deep down inside we have talent, what we don't realize is most people want us to keep it deep down inside. What I truly think is most of the competition apply to sing on National TV just to be seen and then have the bragging rights to say they were, no matter how bad they sound, in fact I think the worse they are the more attention they get. So much for the 15 seconds of fame, I say at what cost is fame these days.

A relative of mine sucks at singing but everyone says she is great, probably because we all love her and don't want to hurt her feelings, but I tell the truth! I have told her, her singing is awful and she will make a fool of herself on national TV and all her friends will laugh at her, but she still wanted to try out, so I secretly filmed her singing and showed it to her and guess what? She was so embarrassed and admitted it WAS awful and thanked me for telling her the honest truth! She said and I quote: Thank you Aunt Bren, you are the only one who had the nerve to tell me the truth knowing full well it would hurt me but also knowing it was something you had to do to prevent me from making a complete fool of myself, I would have cried many nights from the embarrassment!

everytime i see the bad ones, that is exactly what goes through my mind too.
well..i SUPPOSE some ppl get nothing but encouraging and WRONG, feedback from friends and family..it is possible.
on the other hand..perhaps some of them really are that completely full of themselves...or the other option..which is much less annoying that the second one.
they really are THAT oblivious.
hopefully to those ones, seeing themselves on the show will help the world a bit (LOL) and make them come to their senses.
the others will continue to be self-centered egoistical sh*theads..for the rest of their lives. and when we see them on the street we will have some foreknowledge of their personality and avoid them..which in a way also helps the world a bit!! HAHAHA!
to the ones that get nothing but good feedback from friends and family..i feel bad for. cause obviously they want to believe that they really are good, just like everyone tells them..and then the audition and get the wind just blasted out of their sails..and i feel for them cause its GOT to hurt when you've been led to believe otherwise.

They believe they are good because they've made it through several rounds already by the time they actually see Simon, Paula, Kara and Randy. First round, is in a a stadium of at least 10,000 people. Only about 100 people make it through to the next round from that bunch and most of them are horrible. The next two rounds the PAs and producers weed out the craziest of the bunch to get to the judges, all the while telling them how wonderful they are. Mind you, they see tons of people who they think are way better than them (and usually are) getting cut and they get to stay. So they walk into the room of judges on top of the world and get shot down. It sucks because they get chosen over really awesome people and they have to do a hell of a lot of waiting/traveling/standing outside and other ridiculous things just to get humiliated on national television. Wouldn't it be so much better for the show and everyone else if the good people got the positive thing they wanted and deserved for going through the same thing the bad people did?
