Ever since childhood, we have been using water from faucet as drinking water. They said it is not safe, but we say we are used to it and we are already immune on the possible disease it might bring. On rainy season, they do say, it is much safer if water is boiled first before drinking, and that is what we are doing.
But then as of now, now the weather is bad and raining has been non-stop I do believe water from faucet in our place is not safe to drink. NOt even boiling would help it. Why, the water that comes from faucet gets muddy. If you would look at the color of it to the color of the water in canal, it would look the same. I do know why it is happening, when in fact in other place, the water does not get muddy on rainy season. Then I was thinking it might be due to lack of filtering system.
How about you guys, does the water from faucet in your place ever get muddy. Do you think it is safe to drink?

Hello honeylore23! That's what the main problem in my hometown too. The water gets muddy when it rains that it's really impossible to drink it. I blame it on our municipality and poor services. When they were aspiring politicians yet, they will promise a lot of things then when they win, they forgot everything they said..

i suggest that you people make a letter of petition complaint to this effect as regards the kind of water utility system that you have in your place.
in the petition, place all there your observations and complaints. then have it signed by everyone in the locality who are using or patronizing the water system. find out who are the proper authorities to give the letter to. then, make plenty of photo copies of it. send copies to the radio stations and ask them to comment on the petition. send copies to the television stations and ask them to comment on it, too.
you can go as far as sending copies to karen davila of abs cbn for their appropriate action on it, too. when they touch on the topic on national tv, you can expect that the authorities will all awaken to the needs of the people for a properly working local water utility system. you can bet on this all that you've got. however, this requires immediate action. so work on it now. i tell you, i have always been active on doing these things to alleviate the conditions that we are in in our place. you may consult a lawyer if you need one. but this is really unnecessary. anyway, there's the public attorney's office that can give you free services for consultation purposes.

it is bad that water that flows from the faucet in your place is in that condition. i wonder why those people in your place who manages and runs the water system are not doing anything to address this problem accordingly. they are supposed to make sure that the running water is at least potable.
by potable, it means that the water is at least worth the risk drinking straight from the faucet. thus, the running water should never be murky or muddy at anytime that you open your faucet regardless of the prevailing weather condition.
i do believe that there is a need for the residents to do something about this. bring your complaints to the attention of the proper authorities. why don't you make a petition letter signed by plenty of residents in your place to this effect? then, address it to the water authority at the national level. furnish a copy to the tv channel stations and the radio stations, too.
they will surely make all the necessary steps to correct the wrongs that they are trodding all these years, those people who make up the management team of your local water system...what with all those pressures pouring in. make the move now.

I don't think our water here is very safe to drink either. We usually drink ours from the refrigerator tap. Our water isn't muddy but you can see particles in it.

Guess I have never though of whether it is safe or not. I do know it does not come out muddy looking so does that mean it is safe for us? I don't drink it, but my kids drink it from the faucet all the time.
