I'm looking to get a laptop, but i don't know where i should go to get one. what do you think is the best place to get one online or in a store? do you know of any good place to get more information on laptops so that i make the right choose? are there things that i should look for or stay away from when choosing a laptop? what are some good brands that i should be looking at?
this is my first time buying a laptop and i really don't want to make a bad choose when it comes to picking one out. i don't want to spend a lot of money just to find out that what i choose was a peace of crap.

There are a lot of things that you need to look at when researching a laptop. The first and most important for people is COST. Now when your looking for a laptop there are many different prices ranging from under 400 to over 3000. The next thing to think about would be what you are going to be doing with it. Say for example that you work for a company where you travel all the time and do power point presentations and use a projector to display your presentation. In this example you would want to get a laptop that is light, decently small, and powerful enough to get a good quality display on a projector. A monitor output would be a must in this situation and I would say 1gig of ram minimum for this purpose. A good computer to look at would be something like the Mac Air. Now another example would be you needing a computer only to web browse and do things like type papers and look up information. For this you would just need a basic computer, no Cd-Rom or accessories. A great computer for this purpose and actually what I am using right now would be a Acer Aspire One. This laptop runs for about 350 and to me is a great deal for the computer. I hope that I have given you some useful information and if you have anymore questions feel fee to ask me and I would be glad to give you my insight.

all i know is that i don't want to spend more then 1,000 dollars on it. well i really don't know what i would do with it. the only things that came to mind right now is surfing the web, downloading music, maybe some videos. not really sure. ya i hear that macs are good computers to get. i know that macs are good for video and image editing. do they make any with wireless cards in them?

Yes all macs have a wireless card in them even most of the desktops do. If you are looking just for downloading songs, videos and surfing the web you could get a good laptop for under 700. Doing the items you requested does not take much processing power and will run fine on even the cheapest of new laptops. A good suggestion for you would be to look into the Hp site. a good model to look at would be the HP Pavilion dv5z series, they start around 570 and even that model would be more then enough for what you are going to be doing. Good luck and any more questions let me know.
