I use email through my provider - AT & T (actually, was BellSouth). I never read it online. I download all my mail to my computer through Eudora, a very reliable email client. I've used it for probably the entire time I've been on the Web. I used it free, then bought it and now it is completely free.

It all depends on ur needs I think. Web-base service is a trend of future, and I think it is convience to get service without installing a client. and security problem, neither of them are absolutely secure. Web-base mail may be attacked by hacker, and local mail client will be steal by ur computer's guest user. So It all depends on u. :-)
