As I am exploring paypal and a number of surf on net. I suddenly realized that as early as last year, Paypal already has this feature where you can link your local bank upon withdrawing and you will be only charged with P 50. Somehow, if you are a credit card holder, you do not actually need an EON bank for your paypal account to be verified. And once you are verified, you can actually just link your bank, and the thing is you will just be charged with 50 pesos compared to withdrawing it through your card where you will be charged with $ 5 or 230 pesos. Well, finally I got my EON card and I am waiting for my paypal verification. EON is helpful in a way because for people who are afraid to use their credit card for whatever purposes online. Hehehe! So, if you're from the Philippines, you can take a look at this list for your banks: http://www.jehzlau-concepts.com/2008/01/paypal-philippines-bank-code-list.html. I have not really started with my discussions for january and I failed to reach my target last December. so just wish me luck. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the information, I did notice that one but only after I got my EON card. I was paid by mylot but didn't withdraw the money because of the charges (it was too high for me). Now, I'm thinking about linking it to my bank. Do they have preferences in terms of banks?

I guess they prefer those banks in the list. I am just so happy to see Bank of the Philippine Islands. Aside from that I think, there are better means to use EON (and I am thinking of doing my transactions online with it).

This is a good topic for a discussion. I didn't know much about paypal's transaction fees. And I learned something from this discussion especially with what spoiledbrat's shared information. I already got my EON card but I didn't verify my paypal accout yet. I think I need to deposit at least 200pesos before I can use it to verify my account. Right? What other things do I need to do to verify my account? After verifying my account can I then request bank withdrawal using my EON card also?

Yeah, you'd need to deposit 200 with your EON card for it to get activated. But the standing rate per transaction is still $5 which is high. So, I'd suggest you link your withdrawal to your bank account since it only required Php 50.

It is really nice that it is easy to tranfer paypal funds to banks here in the Philippines... but if the account is not verified... we can only do up to $500 of transaction... i have a credit card... and tried to use it to verify my account... but paypal doesn't recognize it... so i had to apply for my own eon card at Union Bank... hopefully it will arrive next week...

I think paypal only accepts Credit or debit card with Visa logo and not Mastercard. That's why you can't use your BDO or BPI credit card to verify your Paypal account. But you can still use it to withdraw your funds. I thinks HSBC credit card can also be used to verify your paypal since it is a visa card.

I used my BDO Credit Card (Mastercard) to verify my Paypal account without any problem. @aseretdd, no. If you are from the Philippines, you can not transfer any amount from Paypal to your bank account without any credit/debit card. That's from Paypal help desk.

What is an EON? What does it mean? Is that a certain banks card or a certain bank? I'm not very familiar with it although i use Paypal too. =)

Your lucky to have you paypal being verified. In mylot, a number of members from the Philippines have been using the Union Bank EON Card. It's the easiers way to have your paypal verified without the fear of your credit card being hacked.

Congratulations in advance! Yes, I've been using EON card since last year, it's a great help. I have credit cards also but I don't want to use it on my transaction through online. We all know that there's a lot of scam but we just have to be careful in using credit cards for our good. I always get my money after 3 days on my EON card after transferring from paypal, that was so fast indeed and thanks to unionbank. I wish you luck to reach the payout too. I've been busy too for 2 months so haven't reach the minimum payout of $10 for so long, now I am working a bit to make it, best of luck and keep on posting! Have a nice day!

Eon Card is a "cyber account" from Union Bank (a bank in the Philippines) that is a debit card and bank account at the same time. This cyber account can be used as your bank account link for withdrawal and to verify your Paypal account. No other debit/credit card can be used to do both. Withdrawal through check or wire transfer is too costly so it is best to get money from Paypal through bank transfer.
