I was scammed again by someone pretending to be Paypal. It was interesting because a lot of us on Mylot did get emails from Paypal today. This is what kind of confused me, until I realize that they spelled Paypal, as Paypol. So do be careful my friend's. This is what it looks like.

Sorry for the delay in answering, my wife wanted to use the computer
If you forward the emails to PayPal they will try to find out who is sending them out. They have far better equipment and skills thatn most people i guess. I'm sure they will try to track down the ISP of the mailer and get him shut down so he cannot mail any more people

I forwarded it to spoof@paypal.com and they got back to me within the hour. They confirm that it was indeed Phishing and thanked me for taking the time to send it to them. They said, because of this, it can help prevent it from happening to others. It is the best thing to do, besides warning people.

Hi Rozie37! Good thing that you have noticed that it is a fraud email. I haven't receive any email like that and I am glad that you have posted this so I can be aware that it is nothing but a scam. Thanks again!
Take care and have a nice day!

Its good you spotted it. I never go to paypal or ebay thru my email. If I need to go to paypal, I always go there directly. I never answer emails from them neither. I have gotten phony emails from paypal and ebay, you have to be so careful these days. If you would have fallen for it, instead of you having access to all the great features. The scammers would have access to your money and your bank account or credit card if you have it attached to your account. Good lookin out Rozie.

What a scam and if you do not look at it correctly you can think it would be real. I did not get one. I got paid but did not get the one to confirm my email address. I would not because my paypal account is several years old.

Rozie did my response sound like I was nasty to you if it did I did not mean it that way. I was talking about myself so if I offended you I am sorry it was not my intent.
I would have opened it but then read your paypal account needs to be confirmed. That would have sent bells off in my head because my account is several years old.

I have had several spoof emails purportedly from PayPal. Everything was almost correct including the spelling. But a very long address made the email a suspect. There is one give away which gave the game away. I knew it was a spoof before I opened it because it was sent to the wrong email address. It seems that these scammers/phishers were taking email addresses at random. PayPal was not the only spoofed site. Among other spoof email that I received in the past include Liberty Reserve, NatWest, Lloyds, and Barclays.
all the best,
rosdimy

The thing that makes me so mad is that these kind of crooks make it so hard for everyone else. They say that "Necessity is the mother of invention," or something like that. When you think of all the new things that have been created and then all the new things that had to be created, because of the criminal minds, it can be quite overwhelming to try to get your mind around.

My paypal account is not under my email address...so when I get an email from them I ignore it....because paypal (or whoever it is) doesn't have my email account...so this way I know right away that they are not really paypal...

That is a rather comical error that they made, I can always spot a fradulent email because there are often mistakes in the English.

That is true. You know that it had to be a foreigner. Or else they think that it is some kind of joke to make obvious stupid mistakes. Well I know one thing, the criminal mind can be both brilliant and dumb, all at the same time. Ever seen stories on America's dumbest criminals? If not, check out this months Reader's Digest.

You would never access PayPal or any other secure site from a link in an email. You should always access PayPal and other financial sites directly by typing the website URL into the browser. PayPal or any other financial institution will not send out an email asking you to access the site from a link on the email, and any email that asks you to do so is fake. Lastly, if you are at all uncertain, just place the mouse cursor over the address link. It will show you what the true website URL is that it will send you to. CLUE! It won't be PayPal!

Roz,
I had a similar complaint, and I had to call Paypal and they told me when you get emails like that, send it to spoof@paypal.com. Also, whenever Paypal sends you an email, they send it in your name ALWAYS. Like, Dear Rozie whatever, Just to let you know that so you know the deal from now.
