hi all!
being very rich (financially) is the ultimate (and nearly impossible) goal for most of us. the fact that you are financially secure for the rest of your life and even your great-great-grandchildren would be financially secure for their entire lives as well seem to be a very comforting idea.
however, i'm just wondering... if you finally became so rich, would you still want to work?
i think that, in my case, i would be too bored and therefore, i would like to work in my own company. or i would even like to work for other companies. the fact that i'm not working anymore for the sake of money would enable me to reduce some of the stress and focus instead with working to develop my career and help the company achieve its goal (of providing quality products or services to clients).
how about you guys?
thanks and happy mylotting!

If I was very rich I'm not really sure if I would still want to work or not because my job currently is kind of boring and not all that fun. If I worked with a bunch of people I liked and the job was something that I wanted to do then yes I would still work because having free time all the time can prove to not always be very fun. If I was rich though I could constantly be changing what I'm doing and it would be hard to fall in a routine if I was always changing it up.

If I have this more than enough amount of money for my upcoming generations also, then I have nice pans. I would not work, but I would start exploring. I would go from one country to another, and would travel across the whole world.

Maybe not anymore. I would choose to roam around the world and enjoy everything that I have. If I work I wont have enough time anymore for spending my money
Perhaps I would create a company that would employ a number of people so I could help them.

Even if i won alot of money i would still want to work. For alot of reasons. ALthough it will change the ways i work. With alot of money i could probly start my own business. I would even run a daycare or a event coordinating business. Or i could do both and have managers to help me. It would be kind of great.

Yes, I would probably still work, but not employed to another company. I would work in my own business or franchise. I don't like the restrictions that are there when I have a job. You can't just leave work, you can't be absent without a "valid" (from your superior's point of view) reason and other stuffs. I would definitely want to be able to do my own thing, to laze around when I feel kinda tired, to work hard when I want to. It would be great to feel no pressure about earning to make sure there is food on the table, working when I am rich would be like a hobby, a favorite past time, something that I do for the learning experience and the challenge and not because I have to.

Hello mazdakid!
If I were very rich, I would definitely still want to work! I believe that even the richest people in the world still work. I can't imagine just sitting around doing nothing. I would definitely be bored if I won't work. Besides, if I were very rich, I would make sure that I will take good care of my wealth. Not only for myself but also for my family and the generations after mine. Well, yes, also for other people whom I would like to help.

I don't think there is any end to people's desire. Even Richard Gere, one of the richest man of this planet would probably not say that he don't wanna work. So there is no ultimate in being rich. For me being financially independent is very very important as it gives us a lot of self-confidence. So nomatter I am rich or poor i would love to work till I will be capable of doing so.

If a person was rich, then he would definitely not go for work. People work so they can get money but if you can make enough money without working, then you would not go to work.
Nobody loves the work they do, although people boast saying that work is worship. The true worship is money, power and preestige.

Probably not IF and only IF I had enough money to retire as well as continue living in such a way I could enjoy the world. If I had the money I would never work again (in the sense of a day job) and go out and explore the world. That sounds corny, but its the truth. There is something enjoyable about a hard days work, but if I could trade that in to learn and understand more about the earth and its inhabitance I would. Working a job is just a feeding my physical being. I get no mental release, no real excitement. I do not enjoy working nearly as much as being relaxed (yet, not so relaxed where I do nothing; relaxed in the sense of having limited stress while I explore).

Yes. I think work is fun esp. if you love what you do, regardless of economic status.
