rare, medium-rare or well-done steak for you?

hi all!
steak is one of the popular dishes that is eaten by people. for the purpose of this discussion, let's focus on beef steaks. =)
since each person has different tastes, steak is prepared in a variety of ways. one of these varieties include how well the steak is cooked. some steaks are rare. some are medium-rare and some are well-done.
in my case, being a southeast asian who's used mainly to thoroughly-cooked food, i'd prefer well-done steaks. i also like medium-rare steaks on occasion, because the unique texture and different taste (compared to well-done steaks) make such steaks a tasty treat. however, pardon my culinary ignorance, but i shudder at the thought of eating rare steaks that still have raw blood in them. maybe i can try steak tartare (ground raw beef), but seeing a rare and whole steak and eating it would make me kinda shudder... =)
how about you guys? how do you like your steaks? rare? medium-rare or well-done?

Hey there, i like my steak medium rare..my boyfriend likes his blue which is a bit much for me...as for the blood thing, if the meat is hung for the right amount of time there should be no blood in your steak when your eating it...change supermarkets!!!!

i like my steaks to be medium rare, cause it's still a little pink (but cooked and there's no blood running through it) and it also still has a lot of flavor and juices left running through it!
steaks are so good..especially with the side of a baked potato!!

I like mine between medium and medium rare. I like it to be pink throughout but not absolutely oozing blood, a little is ok but I don't like a lot. Sometimes I like it with a little steak sauce or a teriyaki marinade but usually I just put a little salt and pepper on before it goes on the grill. We're actually having barbecued steak for supper tonight.

I grew up with my steak always being well done, because Mom was always concerned about undercooked meat. That is still the way I like mine - juicy, but demonstrably brown.

Hi there Mazda kid!
I like my steak medium-rare. I am also Asian, a Filipina to be more specific and you're right. We like thoroughly cooked food. I like medium-rare because it is cooked although not thoroughly but the main thing why I like it is its juiciness.
