How do you utilise your internet connection to your benefit?

I have been using internet( broadband to be specific) for last four years. The primary purpose of it was online stock trading. But now I am disgusted of the market. I leave it to my wife. Next important thing has been online homebased work for a side income. That also is not that fruitful or gainful. Infact all my online homebased efforts have gone in vain. The third but not the least important purpose has been to study about children , their development, how to teach them etc. etc. But due to some unknown reasons I found that nothing is working. This is my first time of thinking of doing away with my broadband connection. I wonder how you people are utilising your costly internet connection at home?
