The corrupt and completely inept Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid showed the world what his spine is made of. He swore that no appointee of Blago was going to be seated...
Not only was Burris seated, he was given a standing ovation by the US Senate.
It's just as I said before, Reid will protest, bluster on in his usual, incompetent way... then be the mindless rubber stamp for the Democrat party he has always been.
Worms have more backbone than that piece of crap from Nevada.

He wasn't wrong to seat him. He was wrong to swear that he was not going to seat him. Either way I guess he is a hypocrite. All this blustering and posturing over Burris has been very annoying. From all I've read, Roland Burris was qualified and that governor whatever he did and whatever we think of him had, at the time, the right to make that appointment.

True, this situation exposed much more about Harry Reid than anyone else.

I already have voted for Republicans in my lifetime but I don't see any at the moment who would be able to win my vote. I'll guess we'll have to see how things are going in 2010 if Arlen Specter runs again and who, if anyone, challenges him. Chris Matthews isn't going to run so that rumor has been put to rest.

I guess it just shows that Blago is a bit smarter than many thought. His reason for choosing Burris was clear. He KNEW Reid was spineless. He KNEW that the NAACP and Congressional Black Caucus would blindly support Burris because he's black. Finally he KNEW that as soon as the NAACP got involved that Reid would fall like a cheap house of cards since Democrats are prime supporters of preferential treatment for black people. Blago may be a scumbag, but this was a skillful and well calculated move on his part. Now he has a pawn in the senate.

The standing ovation speaks for itself who wants to mix race and politics besides
The governor of Illinois? With the economy the way it is all the investment scams
The wars that are going on world starvation why blame Burris for accepting the
Nomination it probably would do more harm if he was denied mixing race and politics
Do not mix to well. We still have red states vs. blue states the north against the
South. When President Carter was running for office a black person had not
Attended the church that he had been a member of for years all of a sudden one
Sunday a black man wanted To attend the same church again that is what derives
When politics, race and religion are concocted together. Our focus should be on
Healing our nation and fixing this broken system and the world economy.
