We had a very delicious dinner, we had pancakes but not just any pancakes. They were pancakes made by my husband. He makes the best pancakes around. The whole family loves them. So tonight I had the night off and had a wonderful dinner. What did you have tonight?

I do not know what to make. Tomorrow I have all the company coming so I do not want to cook something with leaf overs because we will have loads of food here. but nothing sounds good to cook. Maybe tacos or something simple will do.

I was quite busy yesterday and was feeling very tired so I just made a quick salad for dinner. I cooked some prawns and served them on a bed of lettuce with some Thousand Island salad dressing. They were accompanied by some cooked ham, hard boiled eggs, beetroot, pickles and tomatoes. For desert we had some tinned fruit and custard. I might do the same again for this evening as it was very tasty and it takes very little time and effort to prepare.

I had a hamburger at a little local corner store, it was good but not filling and I am about to starve now.. I may heat a bit of soup to tide me over until tomorrow and that will also go along with the piece of chocolate pie that I know I will be diving into before long..

Oh, those pancakes sound wonderful! I love breakfast for dinner. We had chili, though, since it's very cold here. That's what my husband wanted. Tomorrow night it will probably be vegetable soup. Or, we may have biscuits, gravy and salmon patties. It is all according to how I feel tomorrow night.

It is cold here tonight , so i made a big pot of homemade chili. It is supposed to be even colder tomorrow , so the leftover chili will be even better . this weekend i am going to make alot of homemade vegetable beef soup, so that I can stock up the freezer .

I don't know what I'm going to have. Maybe a Lean Cuisine? lol When I cook for myself I tend to have a lot of leftovers since I live alone. So Lean Cuisines are not unknown to be in my freezer. : ) I think I may settle on some cereal. I'm not too hungry.

Hi OURDEW,
As you can see above, we 'also' had Hamburger Helper. It's become a mainstay on my grocery list, but we do get tired of it at times. It's great because it's economical though. I don't mind having breakfast for dinner at all, but we haven't been doing this as much lately. We'd sometimes have bacon and eggs, etc., so maybe I'll do this again soon. The closest I've come lately, is when I have an omelet of some kind.
Your pancakes sound yummy, so I'll have to keep this in mind. How wonderful of your husband to treat you to this. Isn't 'pancake day/Shrove Tuesday' coming up soon? I think it's in February.
Take care.

Maybe I'll plan to have them that day too. We seldom have them at all anymore, and I don't even make french toast like I used to. Maybe I'll do that one day soon too. I think the reason for this, is my daughter's busy schedule. She's never here at the right time for these things.

I know what that is like too...
There are some things that are just not worth making for one person!

That's generally the only day that we have pancakes for either lunch or dinner here...depending on if I work or not!

Breakfast for dinner...How nice for a change!
I have a problem with that myself as I grew up with certain types of food at certain times of day but I am glad you had such a yummy dinner and I do love pancakes!! We actually had them Christmas Morning as we are never together as a family for Breakfast because my husbands starts work at 3AM every morning!
Tonight for dinner we had Hamburger Helper as we are in dire of getting some groceries in and that is what I had here!

Wow, heavens! You had Hamburger Helper too, just like us. I gave my daughter a choice between this and chili. She asked what kind of Helper, and when she found out 'Three Cheese Manicotti' she wanted that. Great minds ...

Well Mom I really didn't have much choice!
We are so in need of groceries!!!
My deep freeze is practically empty and not much in the fridge freezer either...I so have to do a big grocery shop! I am planning on doing this tomorrow while my son is in therapy!

Breakfast for dinner is always a treat. I had hamburgers and mashed potatoes with a tossed salad. I am not big on french fries. But mashed potatoes are just as good.
