Hem Lines? What you prefer? Why?

I was thinking earlier today about fashion trends, it seems now a days just about anything goes. As far as a women's skirt or dress hemline what do you think looks the best; Ankle length, mid-calf, just below the knee, just above the knee, mini, or micro-mini? I think a women looks softer, more feminine and se@y with a ankle or mid-calf dress or skirt. I think the long look helps to give a better over all line to any figure; especially if you are wearing some rocking boots or heels? So what are your thoughts? What is your favorite look? Why?
