How should an ideal friend should be?

I have so many friends in my life starting from school and college.I feel that an ideal friend should be the one who must share your sufferings and sadness and help you in those times rather than just enjoying with you during happy times.

I think for me an ideal friend is someone who will be there for you. In times of need and someone who would never leave you even if others will. Not just in good times but through the bad times.
