Where are you better at? Writing? Or Speaking?

Personally, I can write better than I can do oral-speaking especially impromptu speaking infront of an audience or even an interviewer. I was lucky to find 2 jobs in my life where I didn't need to be interviewed. Yet, I know there are people who are one of kind in such a way that they can say the words as they think and go along. I think that's very outstanding. Are you the writer sort? Or the speaker sort?

Really, your husband can come in handy for an AVON business. I'm really weak when it comes to speaking. Not that I'm the worst kind. Just according to my own standards, that is.

most of us are impressed by those persons who are great talkers. that is your husband's talent which will send a lot of people, who listens to him, in awe. i admit that i am among those who admire people who are so smart talkers. i can never forget the likes of carlos p. romulo of the philippines. he is so witty. with just a split of a second, he comes up with the best remark that fits the lines of the guy he is conversing with. and the good plusses that they've got? most of these witty beings are also good writers!

those who have heard me speak in competitions before be it in declamation, oration, debates, impromptu speaches and others more, will surely say that i am good at the oral side. as always, i did remarkably in all my work interviews. personally though, i believe i do better in the written form. orally, it is easy to commit mistakes which we can never ever correct nor refine no matter how much we desire to, no matter how regretful we are for that instantaneous error. besides, i am a deep thinker type of person. before i can answer a query, i have to think about it yet. yes, it has to be fast and quick. nonetheless, there will always be about a minute or two that must be wasted on some important points which might be touchy to randomly give an answer. so for me, it is the written form that i go for. i can edit, i can refine, i can correct whatever errors and refinement that my composition may require.

i am already advanced in years, friend, and neither am i teaching in college anymore. i have shifted to farming years ago due to demands of the turns in my life's events with the onset of a family and the need to look after my kids. that means, i have totally stopped doing any of those stuffs anymore. when my children were in college, i used to coach them on these points. yes, i must be a good enough teacher if pitted against most of the ones that we have now. since i used to sing also, i sing and hum to myself and at the church. no money in there, no earnings but, it is much fun.

Wow! Congratulations! I admire people who can really speak well with fluent english. So you still do those stuffs? Declamation and all? Or you've graduated from that era and decided to rest your vocal chords for a little while?

yes, at least your talent never really got wasted even if you've stopped. How about your kids? I've read practically everywhere that talents run in the genes.

I think I am better in speaking than in writing. I can also be good in writing but usually I have to correct my writing a couple of times before I consider my writing okay.

I'm a living proof to that!!! I've heard you discuss. It's amazing how you seem to juggle serious topics and humor so effectively. The students gave you good remarks in the evaluation, by the way!

I find that I can express my thoughts better in writing than in speech. I have a difficult time saying what I have to say and have people understand what I'm saying. When I write, I feel that it just comes naturally. It comes very easily. It almost feels like it was something that I was born with. I'm not entirely sure why I'm better at writing than at oral-speaking. For me, it's just the way it is.

Yeah, you're right. We can take our time and make sure that we're saying exactly what we mean and what we want to say.

same case here. And the big advantage of writing is that you can erase, edit, and do a lot of alterations before it's out. So at least we know we're always on the safe side.

I am much better at writing. When I speak, my brain kind of gets ahead of my mouth and I get all frustrated and tongue-tied. Plus, I hate being interrupted, especially if I am trying to say something important or hold up my end of an argument. The more I get interrupted, the more frustrated I get and the more opportunities come up to interrupt me. But if I can write my thoughts down on paper, in a letter or something like that, I can get it all out without anyone getting in the way. I write a lot of letters that I don't deliver because, even though I can communicate better through letters, I know writing a letter instead of just saying "it" out loud is very passive, even though it will sound a lot better in a letter than it would if I stumbled my way through it.

your brain must have mastered racing long time ago. Lol. I understand your predicament. A lotof people would rather shut up and write.

I'm definately better with writing. I don't mind speaking one on one, in groups, audience etc. But my brain tends to run faster than my mouth and sometimes I even make up new words. Writing forces me to slow down, and organize my thoughts better.

yes, "light travels faster than sound" that is why your mouth can't keep up with the speed of your brain. Lol! That's physics, right? Hope you keep finding the inspiration to write. That red umbrella is cute!

I'm definately a much better writer than I am speaker...In fact I cant stand doing any sort of public speaking and would avoid it like crazy when I was in school...with writing though, ppl seem to enjoy my writings and I of course enjoy doing it so it works out nicely

I also used to write a few romantic novels when I was in highschool using my own penmanship. It's really topsy-turvy somtimes but my classmates seemed to like them it almost became a fad and I almost became famous for that. I happened to fish out one of those novels after doing a general cleaning once and I just laughed at how childish my work already seemed to be for me now.

i'm different from you. I'm much better at speaking than writing. I'm able to better relay myself with speaking than writing. *shrugs* i have no idea why. Apparently, i do well and am more confident when i speak during interviews (though i'm normal and do get nervous) than when i show my resume. I'm not that good in putting down into words how "good" i am.

well that's good.A lot of people are not very good at flaunting themselves verbally and tend to let their resumes do all the talking. If you are confident about yourself, it just shows, right?

me too! I prefer writing to speaking. Because, I usually stutter whenever there's an audience in front of me. And sometimes, if it's a speech I memorized, I usually forget what I was supposed to say because I'm too nervous.

i'm also a good writer. i don't really like to get in front of people to talk, but i can persuade the crap out of people through my writing. if i get up in front of people i start to fidget and studder alot.

exactly what are the things you've been writing to have to persuade the crap out of people for? Lol! If I may ask?
