Just got a new Wii Fit for my birthday today. I love it...I finally have the means of losing some weight and being healthy again. I played it for about an hour tonight and I will keep playing it...I wonder if they will come out with a new game for it or if they will just update it. I hope they just update it!!!
Anyone else have the Wii fit?

I would love to have a Wii Fit to work out more. I want to see how the yoga part of it would work LOL. I don't get how it could tell which poses you are going into. If I had one I would be using it everyday.

The yoga is mostly standing ones....i do not know if you know any poses but one is called the half moon....you streach to one sxide with your arms above your head....the balance board is the most important part because it tells you if you are leaning to far and you have to keep your centre of balance steady. VERY COOL
I have lost 2 inches of my waist and 2 inches from around my bust!!!!!Very effective!

I was thinking about it, that perhaps it would be a nice alternative in winter for me. I just don't know that I'd use it. We just got a Wii for Christmas and I really haven't gotten into it as hubby mainly plays it with the kids to appease them when I'm working. Besides having two fairly lil ones that don't pay attention to what's going on you can accidentally knock them if you or them aren't looking.

I know what you mean about the lil ones. I do it once I have my kids in bed that way no one will bug me...except my hubby but he usually stays upstairs and watches TV. But if you work it may be harder for you to fit in the time...but if you are a morning person you could fit it in then. I would get use to the Wii first...The sports game that comes with it is a great work out as well.
Thanks for responding

We have a Wii, but have not been able to find a Wii fit yet. My kids have been asking for one, so hopefully we can find one soon. They sound like a lot of fun and a great way to get some exercise. When we first got the Wii we all had aches from the Wii Sports game too. We bought Dance Dance Revolution and it can give you quite a work out too , especially in the higher levels.

I have heard that that is a good game as well. Anything that gets my kids off the couch through the winter is a bonus for me....Plus we have rock band and they like that too and playing the drums makes them sweat so it works too!!! It is well worth the money you pay for it! Good luck finding one....We got lucky!

We don't have a Wii Fit as of yet but my wife wants one. You should have more of a means to lose weight not just for a game but for yourself. I hope that didn't sound rude. If it did I"m sorry.
I do hope you continue to play it though and I know you can get the Wii Ski and that uses the wii fit balance board too. I've tried the game without it but I think it would be a lot of fun with it.
And I too hope they come out with more uses for it too and more games. A better section would be nice.

I know it sounds like I come across weak but I am a stay at home mom and my husband works VERY odd hours so for me to go out and lose weight was never an option now I can do it in the comfort of my own house and have fun with it. Plus my kids enjoy it and right now where it is winter they are not as active as during the summer! They have TONS of good games for the Wii to help with weight lose. There is one by Jillian Micheals from the biggest loser were she does routines and stuff that will be the next one I get!!!! Thanks for the response.

Despite its moniker, Wii Fit isn't a total fitness solution, with its included exercises focusing more on improving muscle tone and balance than on cardio and weight loss. What it does offer is a better way to track your weight, body mass index (BMI), and time spent exercising both within the game itself and from any other external activities, giving users a clearer picture of how their health is progressing over time. It's no more going to make you super-fit than Wii Sports is going to make you a tennis pro, but it can provide a strong anchor for a more expansive fitness regime should you have the motivation.
