Wow this programme is so cool! I dont always get to see it. Sometimes I miss it. I cant
belive no one has commented on it yet. I think Caesars techniques are interesting and
look very effective. The main thing I've learnt is not to feel sorry for dogs, but
rehabilitate them. Another thing I learnt is that they dont think like people!!

You may have wanted to mention that you are referring to the Dog Whisperer, at first I almost passed by this post, not knowing who Caesar was, but for some reason I read more and so knew.
It is a good show, and what he has to share is a lot of good common sense, and there are some valuable lessons on the show, such as that the animals need to be treated like animals not like people.
That sometimes people do things because they relate to issues on their own terms rather than on the terms that are natural to a dog or a particular breed.
I have also learned that dog is rather generic, the different breeds do have different needs.
I really enjoyed the show where they had to go and get the dog who used to go nuts when ever the dog whisper's show came on tv it was just to funny to watch the dog bark and try to get close to him through the tv screen.
Of course he was able to get the dog to calm down so that they could continue to watch the show wiht out the dog going nuts.
I also liked that in one instance where the dog and owner did not really suit each other the emotional issues of the owner were such, that Caesar found him another dog, a calmer smaller dog, and Caesar took in the dog he had, and found that dog another home.
I think it is a great show if more people watched it maybe they would have less abandonment issues less dogs being dumped into the system and put down, because people would know how to deal with their animals.
It is also good to see someone making a living doing something they love.

Yeah I remember that show when the dog went nuts at the tv, but I must have missed
the one about the owner being matched up with another dog. Hes very sensitive to the
dogs needs. You've reminded me about how he introduces another dog as a model in how
to behave, to calm down an anxious dog. I think its apparent that he learnt all he
knows through hands on experience and his passion for dogs.

Well there was twice where he had found new dogs and kind of traded the dogs from the owners, some dogs are not a good match for certain people. while I would never mistreat any dog, I know my sister's one dog would have driven me nuts and so would not have gotten the attention he deserves.
It is good that he is so sensitive to the dogs needs and patient and considerate of the people he shares what he knows with.

I really enjoy watching his show. He has some really good methods. My daughter is really a dog lover so we bought her the seasons for his show. We also got my mother in law interested in watching his program and she uses a few of her techniques with her own dogs and they have been working for her.

Thats great about your mother in law putting into practise what she's learnt. I wanted
to add how easy his techniques are once you have an understanding of whats in your
pets head it becomes clear in what you have to do. I see that a LOT of the dogs go
through insecurity issues because their owners arent taking their role as Pack Leader'!
Thats a phrase Ive picked up off the show and its really given me a baby step towards
understanding why they behave a certain way.

I love the show. I learn a lot about dog behavior from watching it. I have put many of the things into practice with my own dogs and the dogs I pet sit for.
I also tell friends who are having problems and issues what to do based on what I learned fro the show. The ones who listen and try it always thank me that their dog is now well behaved. I recently gave my boy friend a tip and it really worked with his Dalmatian.
I keep my mouth shut with strangers even though I see what they are doing is treating their dog as their kid and casing the problem.

I watch the Dog Whisperer a lot and I have learned so much from his techniques. He is always so calm when he works with the dogs. I have tried that too, but I jsut can't seem to do what he does. But then, he has been doing it for years too, and I bet when he started out, he had problems getting them to do what he wanted them to. I do walk my dogs like he says by holding the leash close to the dogs, and it works, as they stay right beside me. He is the greatest person I have ever see to work with dogs. Mine are pretty good for the most part, but they like to bark at other dogs, and bark at people that come to the door. I have't got that figured out yet how to get them to stop, but I am working on it. It seems that the dogs really like Cesar and I think that is really great. I think sometimes that I need him too to help me with my dogs. If anyone can do it he can. Take care, and have a very good day.
