What do people really think about an 19 - 30 year old woman marrying a retiree?

The reason i brought this topic up is there is a growing number of retirees who have young wifes. Although for me its not important I just wonder how its viewed within society in the Philippines. I hear people tell me sometimes age is not an issue then later asking if I can find them a young husband rather than someone who is retired.. So what do you think? Is it ok to marry a 60+ guy? Would you marry one and would it be for love? Or if not why not?

well as for me, i don't see anything wrong with marrying or being with an older man, if its really for the sake of love and not money or anything else. but then again, you know older people here in the philippines were being very traditional and conservative regarding matters such as this. they find it very indecent and they always judge the woman as a gold digger especially when the retiree is rich enough. but if i were in the woman's place, and i know that they were wrong about me, i don't dare to care at all. say what they had to say, but as long as i know im not doing anything that's against the law of man, and the law of god, i will stand by decision.

I think people dont take in consideration a lot of factors when they get married with people that is like 15 or mor years older. then if they do it for the money is totally wrong because they pay the price really high specially when it comes to do things together people that are younger want to socialize still a lot of experiences to do and people that have 50 and up they do everything and its hard I think they really need to see all the facts before they make this decision.

I think she is marrying him for the money. Although this is not always the case but I but his monetary possesions will have a huge impact on her decisions. I think people should marry their spouse from their own age group. I do believe that they will have to face several issues later on in their life. There are exceptions to the rule.

I think in my opinion, just as long as they truely love that person, then it shouldn't matter. It becomes a issue, when you are with that person, just for the money. Otherwise I don't see a problem with someone dating or marrying someone that much older than them.

Hello mattwilkie! I think it really depends on every individual. There are some women who did it for security, some did it for love and some did it for security as well as for love. I married an american guy and he is a lot older than me, though he is not 60. He is 52 actually. But the thing is, he doesn't look old (americans looks younger than their age) and he is very sweet and romantic that makes me fall from him. He knows why I'm on that dating site just like what other filipinas purpose but I made it sure that before committing myself to someone on that site, I should love the man. I know marriage is a long time commitment so I have to find the right guy whom I think would be with me forever. We married here in the Philippines and we all know that there's no divorced here. Like what abby_gale said, I can't take to be in bed with a man whom I doesn't love. Anyway, we've been chatting online for 2 years before he decided to come and marry me.

you know, some women wants to get marry a retiree because of a practical reason...2nd,they are poor... and 3rd,.. they want to fulfill their ambition that they can go to abroad so that they can help their family to have a better life...that's exactly what they want....! but some of them will marry at that age because of love....there are many reasons that it could be happen...!...each one of us has it's own identity...so,there are many kinds of situation that i can't tell...enjoy lotting!
