HI, I am a student who is away from home. I use Poivy (do a google search for it) to call my home and even my friends, because it is pretty cheap, only 4 EUR cent to my home country and 8 EUR cent to mobile number here. If you are living in the US or Singapore or some other countries, you can even call landline and mobile numbers for FREE.
Actually it is not totally FREE, you have to top-up your account first to have credit, and then make calls (For free in some countries, but you have to pay for almost others). Your credit will never expire.
It used to be good, the quality was just the same as using phone to phone, but suddenly today, I got a message "Sorry, you are not allowed to make this call". I did a google search and found out that may be due to my IP is blocked. It sounds strange because now I am living in EUROPE, and my friend who stays in the same campus is still able to make calls.
I hope the problem will be gone soon since my IP address can be changed, but now I start to think that Internet Voip is not as good as I thought.
So how about you, do you use any Voip service provider?

Calling India is very cheap using internet Voip, you can call Indian mobile for about 1 cent per minute, but it does need high speed internet, I think ADSL is ok.
You can check the price for all countries here

The ways to pay for this service depend on country you are living, I think in India, you can pay by banktransfer. You should create a free account (so you have 20 minutes trial calling to countries marked as free) and login to your account to see what payment methods are available in your country.

I think I have a good option for you, just check my profile webpage to know more, you can almost call your people for almost free, where ever they are in the whole world.
A company has just commercialized its mobile voip services and is also paying us back to use the service and recommending, no other mobile voip company has ever done it.

Hi Lovania, I used VoIP before and didn't like it because when the internet is down, it is also down, also quite a few times, people on the other end complains that my voice was breaking up and also I got cut-off in the middle of the conversation for no reason.
Have you thought of using Skype? You can sign up for free and can talk overseas for free. However, the catch is the other person has to have a computer, an internet connection and also a Skype software installed.

No, I am not using this VOIP service and I suppose I don't have any one so far away, but I really want to thank you for the information you have provided in this discussion. I am going to add you as a friend.
