Okay.. So this is what I was trying to ask. It didn't fit the subject line. Hehe. :)
Does it make you feel weird when you feel emotional pain and then you actually feel it in your chest? I find it so surreal, to feel emotional pain then I could really feel the pain in my chest.
What about you guys? What can you say about emotional pain? How do you handle it?

Yes, I have experienced chest pains along with deep emotional pain and, like the other posters have said, it's because your mind and body are connected. It does feel weird but it's better then feeling it in your stomach, which I experienced a time or two in my life. The only thing you can really do when dealing with the physical results of emotional pain is to try to relax and to breath.

Its not that your mind and body are not connected. How then do you explain tears? I have had a lot of experience like this... sometimes it would feel as if your heart would burst due to the pain being experienced. It is because our emotions control our body and vice versa is also possible if you have a bit of a practice. Emotional pain is as real as physical pain.

I see. The thing is that all along, I had this notion that emotions are pretty abstract. You can feel them but can't be reached by all the senses.. Something like that. But there, thanks for making me understand.

Literally having pain from emotions sucks. It's not really a downer when it's from side splitting laughter though. But, when I'm trying really hard not to cry, my ribs start to hurt. Or, like you described, I will have a pain in my chest from crying to much and from not breathing well. My eyes start to hurt too. Of late, the reason I have cried is because my bf and I will have an argument or something. But, the pain goes away after awhile because he apologizes and tries to do everything he can to make it up to me.
