Developing and improving communication skills should be a lifelong learning process. Not enough adults take this seriously. Communication is one of the most important things to learn to do well. Because the human animal is a social animal and an emotional animal it is important to work on your social skills. The way that you interract and talk to people on a daily basis influences how they talk to you, how you feel about yourself, them, and your interractions with them, people who overhear your conversations (one or both sides), and comprehension. When you engage in public speaking especially, your interpersonal interaction and communication skills can make or break your presentation. Your communication skills can also win or lose you customers no matter what job or industry that you work in.
MyLot is a great place to practice your communication skills, because it is a safe community of people with varying levels of proficiency with the English language. Many english as a second language people on this network and many others actually use more fluent and grammatically correct english than do those who were born and raised with English as a first language. Even in emails and chatrooms the way that you express yourself and communicate your ideas has a lot to do with how people perceive you online, realtime, business, or personal how you say what you wish to say is almost as important as what you're trying to communicate to other people.

I agree with you. Good Communication skills can take you a long way. ;] sometimes just the simplest misunderstandings through lack of communication or the wrong way of communication can ruin a lot of things.
That's a reason to communicate everyday, meet different types of people, try viewing things from different points of view, and try understand the human heart and mind.
Emotions in conversations are really important too. ;]
be careful how you word your speech, your body language, and your attitude.
Happy MyLotting!!

all communicationn can be fraught with unseen dangers and pitfalls. Perception also has a lot to do with how we communicate too. How we are perceived when communicating can sometimes have more of an effect that what you are saying, and often a negative effect. Why is communicating properly so much trouble?
