Poor old lady got mugged and died...!

Read a story in the paper today about an 81 year old woman who died after being mugged! Apparently she was attacked by a bag snatcher as she was walking down the street in the evening, the mugger struggled with her
and she was left lying on the floor, was taken to hospital and died overnight!
Wonder why this guy would want to steal an old lady's purse
and what the hell was he thinking struggling with someone obviously quite vulnerable... Must be on crack or something!; You do wonder what society is coming to for things like this to happen..
Hope he will be caught and brought to justice... Do you think he should be done for something much more than theft? Was wondering if they'd just arrest him for theft?! What do you think? Awful, huh?

hi marina,
really nowdays the crime is getting too extreme .. people do not respect people anymore ...it is bad especially when we loose our hard earned money to this criminals ...
this people are becoming more violent nowdays ... i remember last time they just rob us now they either push us or use the knife to stab the victim ...
why ... ? i wonder why too ... cant this people just stop us and just take the bag and our gold ornaments and leave us alone .. and not harm us ..

This is one reason I don't read the paper or watch the news. I am a sensitive person and these type of stories hurt and make me angry. The guy who did this must have been very desperate. I think he should get it for man slaughter too. Or something along these lines.

Iwonder how such guys can do such horrible things. Such an old lady. Imagine the thought of the guy tryingto beat up and old lady like that and snatching her purse. Such guys should be caught and hanged. At his old age one woudl think that people willcome out and help instead of mugging them.

Yeah, I also did wonder if there was really no one on the street coz someone would have come to her rescue.. she must have not even had much on her

There is no excuse for behavior like that. I can only think that this guy must have been pretty desperate which still doesn't give him the excuse. I hope whatever he found in her purse was worth going to #e!! for cause that is certainly going to be where this guy ends up.

Was thinking he must not have really been with it really to struggle with an 80 year old woman! I do not think she'd have had much on her either, it is normal for old ladies to be protective of their purses and he should've just walked away Hope they catch him anyway!

In this day and age and the economy at what it is nothing surprises me. People are trying to live and finding it hard to do so. That is not excusing what this man did just looking at it from a possible why he did this. This is awful. It seems like anymore a person has to really be on the watchout to keep themselves safe. I do think if they catch the guy he should be charged for more than stealing. He caused the old women to die. I do think that he should be punished for that also. Be put in jail is what I am talking about. For longer than he would be in jail for stealing.

Sorry to hear this to the poor old lady. We can't really read what is going on to the head of that man who did this with her. It could be out of poverty or a sick family member but these doesn't reason enough to harm and kill someone as vulnerable as this old lady. This guy shouldn't be only punished by theft but murder as well. The old lady should be given justice for the harm that was done with her. I bet the family of the old lay will file a lawsuit against him and should be imprisoned.

I guess, when these theives what money, they do not care who they get it from, they are just looking for enough money to take care of their next fix.
Everyone should look after their elderly relatives, friends etc. Find out if there is somewhere they need to go, and take them or go with them so they are not on the streets alone.
Hurting the elderly is like hurting children, we need to protect them not harm them. Some cities have cameras on the street poles, and this helps in capturing criminals.
I hope they chase the j*rk.

Think so too, hope they catch him! and I do hope they had CCTV in the area as I doubt there'd have been many people about...

I hope he'll get caught too. The world we live in is a sad and horrible one, unfortuantely. Too much of this sort of stuff happens way too frequently.
