I do not have any specific word to start with my response. I just type the one that has to be put up for that discussion..It can be "I", "My", "It"..For me it is not a pre determined one. Infact only after reading your discussion, I'm thinking about the first word of my posts..I even looked back to few of my older posts..Interesting one.

Hi.
It largely depends on the discussion but I think, I use 'Hi' as my first word in most of the cases as I think it is a nice way to start a post.
I use the phrase 'I mean' a lot in the middle of my posts and at times it is not good.

Didn't knew the experts felt this way too, but yes I am working on reducing usage of this phrase in my writing or even speaking.

It really depends on the discussion itself. I try to dive right in if the poster asks a question. I don't think I have a word or phrase that I use to start my responses. Sometimes I start it off with "LOL". Now you are going to make me go back and read through some of my responses to see if I have a pattern!
Happy myLotting!

well... LOL, I actually seem to start most of my responses with "well"... it seems to fit whatever it is that I actually type!!!
it is funny that you asked because a couple of my responses I thought to myself, wow I started those out the same way....LOL

Hi sanuanu, I believe you are quite familiar with the way I'm used to respond a discussion
I would like to say HI and followed by the user name of the discussion creator. Yeah, just like what I have done here. Sometimes I would start by Yeah or Really if I agree with the opinion of the creator. In case the username of the discussion starter is too lengthy I would start with HI There.
usually I would like to end my response with Happy posting , sometimes may followed by HAVE A NICE DAY or WISH YOU ALL THE BEST and .....

Hi lkbooi, always nice to have a chat or two with you.
I have seen one of the response where you have used a shorter version of user name because it was a long name.
As you would have known for me, I have been using "Well" as starting in past time but now I have started using "hi" in the begining, after all it makes others feel nice, isn't it/

I find myself not using the same work for most responses. It all depends on what the topic is about, and how the writer struck me. I find it fun to key off what the writer is talking about once a discussion interests me.

Yes, you just gave me the BR on your SMS discussion. But like you said, its more about the content of what you write rather than the word that you start the response with.

I believe that it depends on the discussion as to what I write and how I start it. I am sure that the word "well" is one of the most common and the word "I". It is interesting to think about this as I had never given it any thought.

I usually start with the word "Well" but then i'm trying to minimize it so it won't be too obvious. Lol! Well i start with the word "I" which means i was able to resist. lol! Sometimes where there's a mind boggling discussion, i would start with "hmmm" to emphasize that i'm thiking first before responding.
