Australians are called aussies & when pronounced in english accent sounds like Ozies which probably got abbrived to OZ.
I can only guess about down under. Since the country is situated below UK in the map, they staring calling these tours down under.
I certainly know why thay are called kangaroos. I also know that ashes cup continas ashes of real bails that wrere burnt.
However i am qurious to know about the term " BOXING DAY" & as to why boxing day test matches are always held in australia only??

First of all thanks for your reply. I think, I got most of through your answer. Thanx for the same again. Now as far as your query is concerned, I think, the term "Boxing Day" is concerned, with the day that falls after the X-mas. That is the 26th day of December is termed so. But why the Tests are played only in Australia, that I can't really say. Acutally, I never marked it as precisly as you have done. Why don't you put the query on discussion here on MyLot. May be someone will surely answer.
