It's all my college roommmates fault....
I used to have one of those loud, bell ringing, wake you from a coma, big ben alarm clocks. It would startle me awake every morning throughout high school and freshman year of college without fail. Even if I had very little sleep and was very tired, it would jar me to the point where I had to get up, there was no going back to sleep for 5 minutes.
Well, the problem was, during my sophmore year at college, I had early classes and my roommate didn't. She did not appreciate my alarm clock's assertiveness. Hence when Christmas time rolled around she bought me a digital alram clock with a snooze bar. Curse that snooze bar.
Now, and ever since, I have become a snoozer. Yes, I admit to setting my alarm early so I have time built in to snooze. It's even harder to get out of bed in the winter, when it's so dark and the room in cold, and I'm nice and snug in my bed.
Suggestions...well, I miss my Big Ben alarm clock and have often thought about getting a new one. My friends tell me to set my alarm clock far enough away from my bed that I have to get up out of bed to shut it off. They also say keeping a regular sleep schedule is important. But iI really like sleeping in on my days off from work. So good luck, and know that your not alone.

I do the same thing, as long as you set your alarm a bit earlier than you actually have to be up it's not a problem I don't think. My new phone doesn't have a snooze option though so I have to get up now, maybe that's the answer get an alarm clock without snooze so you have to get up straight away or you will be late.

Years ago I had the hardest time getting out of bed but that was because my life sucked and I had no reason to feel motivated to get out of bed. After changing a few things in my life, which took a long long time, I now get out of bed at 5am every day without the need for an alarm clock at all.
For me it's all about having a reason to jump out of bed in the morning.

I am one of the lucky ones that doesn't need an alarm clock to wake up. I always wake up way before I am due to wake up.
Even when I use to use an alarm clock, I would hop right out of bed after I turned off the alarm. I never used the snooze button.

Hi Joe,
I don't use a alarm clock, because I just get up and have never been late, when I wake up I just get up, no lying in bed for me, its just time wasting.

I wake up when the alarm rings or a little bit before it does. I have always been an early riser.
