Dont's - no plastic containers in microwave, no water bottle in freezer and no plastic wrap in microwaves. A dioxin chemical causes cancer. It is highly poisonous to the cell of our bodies. Dont freeze your plastic bottle with water in them as this realeases dioxin from the plastic. We should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic containers. This especially applies to foods that contains fat, because the combination of fat, high heat, and plastics releases dioxin into the food and ultimately into the cells of the body when you eat it. Instead, use glass, such as corning ware, pyrex or ceramic containers for heating food.. you get the same result, only without the dioxin. SO such things as TV dinner, instant rame and soups, etc. should be removes from the container and heated in something else. paper isn't bad but you dont know what is in the paper. Its just safer to use tempered glass. Plastic wraps is just as dangerous when place over foods to be cooked in the microwave. as the food in nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins to actually melt out of the plastic wrap and drip into the food. Civer food with a PAPER TOWEL instead.

Morning Ann_margaret22....I wrote about this about a year ago...and it is the BPA's (biphenols) that are released that are the toxins, look at the bottom of any plastic container, if you see BPA or #7, these are the one's that should not be heated or frozen! BPA's have been NOW banned in Canada, and any product that consists of them! Cheers!

I don't even use the microwave oven, since learning of the decrease in white blood cells following consumption of food that has been cooked in a microwave oven. Plus, the polarity of the molecules of water in the microwave reverse about 100 billion times per second, creating the friction that heats the food. But it also chemically alters the food. I'd think twice about cooking food in the microwave, with or without plastic containers.
