Has anybody come across a honest salesman? It is very normal for salesman to pull a fast one to make a person buy a product. Is there any honest salesman out there who has never lied while on work? or Is it normal or alright for a salesman to lie in order meet his target. But a small lie or white lie is a lie and it is immoral to tell a lie. In the Garden the serpent told a lie to deceive entire human race.
Please share your thoughts.
I'm a sales guy myself!

I have always had a penchant for sales, but for me effective sales is about great customer service. Giving the customer an honest evaluation of what they need is often a better sales technique than trying to sell them something they don't. While you may not make a bigger commission, or achieve instant success, you generate a LOT of repeat business!!

My husband is an honest salesman. That is why he is not making much money too He never over price the items, so that his commission is larger. He will not let a customer buy something that he does not think is worth the cost either. He is not high pressure as well.

cristobert,
I do not seem to agree with being unethical and unscrupulous to achieve one's objective. No, I wouldn't opt or even go for it. Sales targets can still be achieved if we can be focused, disciplined and work oriented. Resorting to underhand tactics just reflects ones ill preparedness and ill discipline.
