Is it just me or does it seem like there are just too many guitar hero games?
There's Guitar Hero 1, 2, Rocks the 80's, legends of rock (3), Aerosmith, and now World Tour.
You could also count the 2 DS games I suppose.
But it seems like that someday the next game in the series won't be met with as much acclaim with Legends of Rock and World Tour caused.
It reminds me a bit of DDR; after about 8 different games it just started to get dumb, and now it's starting to become pretty unpopular.
Will Guitar Hero do the same?

There can never be too many Guitar Hero games! But then, I am a hopeless addict. :)

I like what they're doing with band-themed Guitar Hero, like the upcoming Metallica, the previous Aerosmith, and the upcoming Beatles one. But Guitar Hero is quite a franchise; it has given kids the chance to listen to music they might not have otherwise heard. Guitar hero and Rock Band will keep innovating, but if they don't, Guitar Hero could go the way of the buffalo. I feel Guitar hero is a much different breed, however.

True, the games for individual bands are pretty clever.
Have you tried Aerosmith though? It truly is just Guitar Hero 3 with a few different animations and characters - the layout is exactly the same.
I hope the future games like this are at least done better than Aerosmith (the songs were fine).

I like what guitar hero has done, but my 2 favorites has to be guitar hero 3 legends of rock and guitar hero 4 world tour. I like legends of rock bveter tha world tour though, simply because i liked the old set list of songs and the hammer-ons and pull-offs were much easier.

I like that there are so many. On each game you get different songs

I like the variety of games for Guitar Hero. It gives you a wide variety of songs to play! After a while you get sick of the songs on one game, so you give it a break and start another. Then I find it fun to go back to the older ones and play some of your favorites.

I own 2 of the guitar hero games and I am beginning to realizre that the games get really boring. After 3 months of playing, I rarely touch my guitar hero games. The songs arent so great and I am so sick of the same pattern of pressing down stupid colored buttons. Guitar hero was a better game when it was in arcades, not on consoles. And Yes, there are way too many of them.

I agree, there are way too many games to Guitar Hero. I understand it's hugely popular and they want to make as much money as possible while people still love to play it but there are so many out there. My husband has three of the games and rarely plays them anymore. He wants to add more to his collection but I won't let him. I hate the game to begin with and he doesn't even play the ones he has.
